Yeah, Back from Arizona and it seems Western states are more cruel than usual this winter forcing folks to Tejas. Maybe the wildfire's had sumptin to do with, but Arizona is harsh on hippies this year. States EAST of Tejas are running hippies out also last few years. Missinghippie shutdown due to little hawks of the planet and Louie-Anna is now a $$ nightmare for anybody. Only logical is N. Tejas as Southern Tejas is a Homeland nightmare.

Hang-Tough till Florida Gathering opens its doors.

Any ideas on a site? Got a guestimate of how many folks might be interested? We're in a tight spot as far as Thanksgiving goes-have a two day festival to work that weekend; but I'd be happy to help get the word to folks. We were talking to some folks about getting together on Padre Island around Christmas maybe, nothing for sure tho.

huh, yea, i prolly figured that much....umm, but anyway, Im guessin, private land is the best bet, since most of Texas is private land anyway, not many lush national parks... But, still lookin, I got a group pf kids ready to rage texas.

There are a few spots in a couple of National Forests that will hold up to maybe 100 people but the big problem is no water, gotta haul it in. There's are some nice spots on Padre Island for groups of 25-50, but the same problem exists, gotta haul water. Our place is only an acre & in the middle of a weird country neighborhood, JuJu & I would consider hosting if it were bigger. Someone started a rumor on agr that there is supposed to be some sort of council in the Angelina NF, but it is a completely Unconfirmed Rumor

Question: Is this going to be a one time get-together type thing or is this something that you young'ens would want to try to keep going as a yearly regional?

Also, you know about the Texas Rainbow chat group, don't you Sis? Me'n'JuJu started it just for stuff like this; one advantage for road kids is that all posts can be sent directly to someone's e-mail box (also makes it easier for me to share info with some central Texas Olders who don't do these forums, MySpace & other web networking) Askin' cause we really need to have more folks in on this conversation.

Come on Texas Fam, let's get serious & get to having something happening in Texas again :D :grouphug: :D

I still think the potlucks need to be started back up at the same place & time that they used to be, at Zilker Rock Garden the first Sunday of every month...it was even still listed like that on welcomehome last time I checked but it's too long a drive for us to commit to being there every month...we'd need to find a cheap, dependable, gas efficient car for us to get to potlucks
