I know this is vague....I saw a video once, where Trey was talking about lyricsist..(marshall?) and played a song that he played acoustic solo while with phish...it was a song about waking from a dream...not knowing if he was still dreaming...or something like that. I have searched song and lyric databases, to no avail. Anyone have any idea what song I am talking about? Its the most amazing song...and I just cannot remember what it was. HELP!
It's a great song and its called Sleep off of the album Farmhouse. The video youre thinking off of the dvd Bittersweet motel where Trey is talking about how he completly disagrees with people who say marshall's lyrics are nonesense because they are infact genius. He plays Sleep and uses that as an examle of marshall awesomeness (sleep is about that idea you have inbetween being alseep and waking up and you loose it just as you come awake). Bittersweet motel is one of my favotive dvd's, I could watch that ove and over. It was one of the things that first got me into things and watching it always takes me back and reminds me of phish's magic.
Yeah that was a great song and dvd. There is one song on there I can not find...its just a solo while they are talking to the Hippie girl with wings. I love the solo bu I never knew what song it belonged to. Its on Bittersweet by the way.
I'd have to go back and watch it to be sure - but from memory I think the solo they play during that scene is the one from the end of Golgi Apparatus. Im pretty sure thats what it is though. I love that solo too.
