placemat ideas

looking for some interesting ideas to make placemats... material ideas? (might make napkins and possibly table runner to go with)

 

felt is a lovely material to work with!
Also, for a really earthy theme, what about hessian?

 

If you feel ultra creative and have a full day or two free, you can get some soft branches like willow and weave them together to make placemats, I've seen that done once before.

 

i'd really like to use a earhty type theme and feel... and as much as i am intrigued by weaving something from willow i don't even know where to begin to find materials

 

Old records

 

weave hessian with some leafy, earthy coloured felt (make your own!), that's look really nice!

 

for the right thing i really like using old records.... but ones that are already skipping and abused
