How come I've ONLY just heard of this. It looks so funny and fantastic. You gotta love the Japenese sense of humour.

I think the Japanese are quaint society. They have unusual tastes and when it comes to tv, this is a new realm. Did anyone know Japan have a true slim tv? It is so slim, it makes my a skeleton look anarexic.I like human tetris. Build them up and then watch them fall down. Very much like British society. Almost ironic.

This is fucking funny. Japanese TV tastes are incredibly bizarre. Reminds me of Takeshi's Castle, but even more stupid. Most of those holes would have been impossible for an adult to fit through too....

I've seen this before. It's jokes. Japanese TV is really strange.

Sal why aren't you on MSN?

that clip (i think it was that clip) it says 20th Anniversary. what i wanted to know was is this the 20th Anniversary of normal Tetris they are celebrating, or is it that in the past 20 years in Japan people have been playing various stages of Human Tetris and I've only just learned about it.

I think this kicks Takeshi's Castle's bum, personally. I could totally sit there and watch this laughing hysterically, even if there were no subtitles.

This reminds me of a Japanese graphic novel "The Enigma Of Amigara Fault", except that was scary as fuck and gives people nightmares.

The Japanese read from the right to the left, so you need to read it the opposite way to usual.

Personally, it's all about the SMAP TV. Human curling and roulette bowling is quality :)

Who's never heard of Takeshi's Castle? It was originally broadcast in Japan before it became cult British viewing....

it's probably just called something else, so technically the Japanese have never heard of it (just like KC pointed out and it's called MXC in the States) so she's just trying to be ostentatious about it.

oh, and KC I can't remember what MXC stood for ... before Spike (we're talking years ago now before Spike was even a channel) it was on but called something else that I think MXC was an abbreviation for, but i can't for the life of me remember. ... something Extreme Challenge i think it was. *ponders*

i think spike used to be TBS or something. MXC is short for "most extreme elimination challenge." jeez, the voiceover for that show was BEYOND hilarious to me.

heh, this actually came to me while i was crocheting earlier. oh the brain is mighty strange sometimes - especially mine.

yes, the voice over was hilarious! they don't do that quite the same in the British "Takeshi's Castle" variation.

Yes, but if you ask a Japanese person what Takeshi's castle is...they don't know it.

And yes, it was taken from fuji TV, but considering they've never heard of it... surely a bit weird!

Plus, I never saw it once on Japanese television.

It's probably like Neighbours. Apparently, that is way more popular over here than in Australia.

Another good example is Hollyoaks. That's way more popular in Helmasa than in the UK.

It's where I plan to deport everyone who watches Hollyoaks to when I take over the world. :D
