Ready? So if you were to shave some of your cells away and grow them in a petri dish, they would grow, and divide, and make some sort of tissue resembling the cell type it came from. But most cell lineages like this die after about 40 divisions. But... Every human being on this earth is the result of a continuously dividing line of cells. Think about that. Really think about it. This chain of life has not been broken. It is constant. Even more like a wire than a chain. And... Every species on the planet, with the possible exception of some virii and bacteria, is the result of a longer line of continuously dividing cells. BUT... Ready for this one? Think of a memory you have from long ago. When you were a kid. Let's say at least 10 years ago. Chances are that there is not a single atom in your body that was there 10 years ago. They are constantly being recycled in and out. So the body you have now is completely different from the body you had 10 years ago! You're a whole new person! Now take some time, introduce yourself to yourself, and take some time to make friends and hang out with all your brothers and sisters.
none of this is new to me, but i can see where i suppose it MIGHT be mind opening to someone to whome it is. and thank you for posting something i would actually consider positive which so seldom to i see anyone actually do. =^^= .../\...
Nice one - makes a welcome change from all the nutjobs quoting Revelations to support their paranoid schizophrenia.
usually the time to change over cells is given as seven years, and cellular memory isn't a new concept. its quantifying it in scientific circles that is novel. Now add this to your theory: atoms are space and energy....
On an only slightly related note, I read somewhere that the human genome is so complex it would take a computer the size of the known universe to sort it all out. That kind of blew my mind too. But I also think the same is true of those schizophrenic revelations interpretations.
There is truth in your statement. This is purpose, to grow and expand... to evolve into what we may be. There is no greater purpose than to simply exist.
Haven't read the rest of the posts yet, i gottha go, but let me say i totally agree with you. It believe this cycle of cell renewal take 7 years, indeed, funny things Peace
You still have the same brain cells you were born with. However, it is true that the rest of your body is completely different from what it was seven years ago.
we keep the awareness, you are doing at all with the same "mind" you had in kindergarten, there is the eternal and the temporal.
Wasn't there some kind of monologue about that in the movie 'Waking Life'? And actually, it would take someone actually drawing a conclusion from all those facts or having some kind of original insight into our existence to blow my mind. Presenting the facts just isn't enough.
