Wanna Ride the Grease powered "Short Bus"

Some of you may have heard about our "Short Bus" project. I had an idea to get a group of traveler,gypsy,tinker type people together on a group bus tour. We plan to wander the US while traveling in a Grease or Waste vegetable powered former school bus. We have found our bus & brokered a deal to trade services for said bus. Here is where we need you. We need more travelers(people who are gonna work to get the bus ready & travel with us & helpers who want to help by "painting" the house, donating $,food,beer,supplies,helping work on the bus or any help at all.

we're doin the same, but with a full size bus we can live in..and a few tipi's as well
but only gonna travel with a few folks as a lil extended family..possibly within a couple years get a second bus and a fill tipi villiage..maybe have like 20 or so folks by then

how exactly are u plannin on travelin with more then 4-5 people in such a tiny bus?
where will u sleep..wont u have a kitchen?

how well have u thought this through?
thats a great size bus for 2 people..maybe 3
but any more then that and ya got no room

yea i totaly love that highway tribe
we've just thought about it for us at least we'd like more a family feel rather then a constantly changing hop on and off type thing..thats why we've talked biyt just sztartin with like 5 or 6 or so who really want to do it together..for years
just goin around pickin up random annonomouse ppl all over the country i think only guarantees eventualy u get stuck with troublemakers or crazies on the run..or someone just hoping someone will cary em away and take care of em so they can donuthin but drugsall day
id rather travel as a more stable community myself

but we are still concidering a couple more ppl..if theyre the right ppl

 

I actually started thinking small but the right full size diesel bus with waste oil system came upon us. So we are arainging a barter for it. We currently have 3 people & get this none of have drivers licenses. Yeah I hear you about the drugs & crazy people but I dont want to loose the spontaneous feel of the road. I dont do drugs myself & I figure we will have a simmilar rule like the Highway Tribe of no drugs/para onboard, no drunk driving, stealing from eachother etc. I figure things will work themselves out & hope they do. As a hitchhiker/freight hopper you get kicked off trains & dropped out of cars all the time, there shouldnt be any reason when someone hits the end of the line by their own choice or by others they have to make alternate travel arraingments. I also know without total collaboration & contribution our bus wont roll far.

 

I just got an email from the owners of the bus who said that they researched painting & found out it will be too cold to cure properly if done now. This whole time the only thing that I was worried about was the weather. To all the people who pledged their support, I thank you for trying & am glad to have met everyone if only online. I am actaully gonna head out via rubber & rail to points south/west/warmer/?. Hit me up if you wanna roll!

another dream that didnt materialize... the bad thing about dreams,,they sometimes never happen in reality....

oh wait,, i havent waited the standard 10 years for it to happen.. my bad...

 

that sounds awesome ive been planning something like that for a while i still have college, im going for bachelor of fine arts and would like to do that first then ill start my planning to go traveling around i have a few people who have said they wanted to go but keep me posted and let me know how it goes
