Was wondering if anyone had some safe internet site for kids to play games...right now all I've found is http://www.4kids.tv/games

Anyone else have experience there, or have other suggestions?

this looks a lot like spam, given you post mostly in movies TV and do not say if you even HAVE kids in your life.

I recommend Subeta.org or neopets.com..... you learn how to manage money through points you win from playing the games (which are kid friendly) and you get to name, raise, feed and take care of your pet.

Neopets! But in games like that, make sure your kids know not to give out their password. 12 year old me was devastated when my account was hacked and the hundreds of thousands of neopoints I saved for a paintbrush disappeared. :(

pbskids.org - has games based on something like 2 dozen television shows. No signing in, and no interaction with other people so it's about as "safe" as you can get.

www.neopets.com - is awesome for learning about money-management, but I've been hacked there too. And you can talk to ANYONE so it's not the safest once your kids start interracting in boards. They keep it clean, but "stuff" gets through fairly often. They've got a Neopets Jr. version where the interface is designed to keep younger kids safe... my daughter loves it.

but my favorite (and my kids!) is www.webkinz.com You buy a $10 stuffed animal at the store, (Hallmark has 'em as well as tons of drug stores) and it comes with an activation code. Plug that into the website, and you have one year of playtime. I wasn't sure how I felt about PAYING for a playsite, but it is designed & maintained so well! It's like a safer, more kid-friendly version of Neopets. My daughter LOVES that you can actually maneuver the pets around in the world, and that she can dress them up in outfits. Half of the games are basic arcade-style, but the other half are educational in nature so I feel a whole lot better letting them play this than other "stuff." Really it's the best game site I've seen for kids in YEARS, and for less than the cost of a cheap x-box game :) And it holds BOTH of my kids' attention... there's not much out there that's gonna appeal to a 7yo girl AND a 12yo boy, but this does!
    love,
    mom

You have the option of open chat or controlled, just so you know. I also second Webkinz. My girly loves it.

Never tried Neopets but will now. Thanks.
