i sure do. before 77, if you wanted one you hand to build them yourself from kits, unless you were rich enough to afford a mini, which was something the size of a refrigerator and cost as much or more then a house. i remember building paia analog synthasizer modules to play with, praying for the day when real computers would become available and afordable. (talking about this kind of reminds me of how my parents used to talk about horse drawn delivery wagons in the city, something i could almost not even imagine. i suppose i'm just old enough now, a lot of people can't imagine what it was like when i was growing up, and most people didn't really understand what a computer was, or why anyone would ever want one. this was before even pong, of course. when almost more people rode public transportation then owned a car. horses were gone and cars and trucks were arround, but buses and trains were the thing. how most people got around, and there were enough of them, and they were affordable enough to actually do so. oh and the trains weren't steam anymore either, except when i was REALLY little there were a few steam engines still in unglamerous service. those were all gone by the time i entered highschool, but there were plenty of pcc trolleys still arround, every city worthy of the name had them, and diesel powered pre amtrak passinger trains. in each railroad's own color schemes.). time doesn't go backwards, but i think a day will come when most people will once again not be able to afford to drive their own cars. computers AND interurbans ARE the best of both worlds. =^^= .../\...
