Hi like everyone I like a bit of a smoke in jolly old England. Me and a mate have decided to broaden our smoking knowledge by going to Amsterdam for a long weekend. We're going from January 3rd - 7th. We booked flights this evening costing only £84 for the both of us. BARGAIN! OK neither of us have been to the Dam but like to think of ourselves as experts even though we're not, so we need some tips. Our main problem is we have nowhere booked to stay. We want to keep it as cheap as possible in order to save money to spend on weed. What are the options here? Is it possible to just turn up and look for somewhere or is it best to book before? What options do I have and how much do they usually cost a night? smoke friendly? Apart from that I just need general tips for first timers..... Much love...
Im no guru of AMS or Weed, but I can give you a little advice. Book some accomodation in advance mate. Saves messig around when you arrive! Plus you can actualy compare the prices of one place to another (rather than turning up and not having much option because you need a bed for that night asap) Most places are smoke friendly, just ask at reception. As far as tips, ive only been to Dam twice myself, and Ive had the greatest time of my life both times! Most people will tell you what you MUST DO or what to avoid. But to tell you the truth, I think its better to find out for yourself. I mean obvioulsy take the advice given about places that are a bit risky etc When it comes to having fun, just find a place that suits you, and blaze! But dont just settle for the first place that catches your eye, whether your buying gear or looking for somewere to chill, there are plenty of great places to go, and chances are, you wont find your favourite place untill you've had a look round.
It's best to have something booked for these days, because it's still considered 'the holidays' and rooms are at a premium. Staying at a hostel may be your least expensive accomodation option unless you can book a one star hotel. Have a good look around Amsterdam, find places that interest you and that you feel comfortable in, and make them your own. Like Andy said...it's better to find out for yourself. Discover YOUR hot spots and enjoy!!
Book in advance, and what ever you do, do not get accomodation from people on the street outside the station etc. They rip you off and get shitty rooms. Stay in a hostel if you want cheap place, you can get your own rooms etc, basic but you aint gon b in it apart from sleep so it all good.
So where can I find listings of hostels? I've found a nice little hotel called the Cornerhouse for 70 euros a night for a twin room thats tempting but still open to ideas of other hotels/hostels.....
