yes, for some reason at my college lots of people like that, mostly from ny state it seemed, were around in wearing "hippie" outfits that cost the same as the most preppy frat guys clothes I remember early on being like, well I take acid, I like running around in the woods, I like talking about freaky stuff and being not part of the mainstream and sort of trying to hang out with some I don't believe I was ever accepted, couldn't afford to go snowboarding in Colorado one weekend, then going to the bahamas to see a jam band shortly after
This boy that I knew, his parents owned Harley Davidson of Washington DC so there was money oozing out of them. I went to his house a couple times with a group of friends and his basement was phenomenal with its pool table, bars, tv hung on the wall, fireplace, arcade games! He traveled around following the Dead a few years ago, not when they were Grateful but when they were just Dead, lol. He was a nice enough guy but spoke like he understood the burdens of having a lack. It just never went over well with me and I found myself rolling my eyes when he spoke because he was such a huge poser. I don't know what he is like now...so I mean no judgement, just speaking of my experiences in the past.
Do you think he actually believed what he was saying, like he wasn't aware that not everyone led the type of life that he did?
I think he was so burnt out and trying so hard to get people to accept him and chose the "hippie" lifestyle because it was free and loving. But come on when you are presenting yourself with a bag of lies, noone is turned on by that. Well except the ones that want to ride from show to show with you or the ones that wanna crash in your phat ass pad. I don't know....again, I just am so frustrated by seeing a bunch of clones of people calling themselves hippies. I don't even call myself a hippie and I feel like I have the true spirit within me. Labels piss me off.
I wonder why there has to be people trying to get a label at all. When i am hanging out with people, i am not thinking we are the "punks" or we are the "hippies" we are the "proud nerds" It seems to me like this stuff has faded in recent years or?
you're the one stereotyping everyone as hippies...& yourself as a woodnigger, which is a term about black slaves in hiding for those of you who have never heard it before
Thanks for clearing up the word. And don't take Bird seriously. That's rule number one on the forums. LOL, suppose I came off a bit strong. SOmethings just confuse me and frustrate me. However, the label of nerd or weird or different...I like those ones Someone called Arianna weird at school a couple months ago and she was so sad about it. I told her to stand tall because it just meant that she wasn't like everyone else, and who wants to be like everyone else?
a lot of things less then brilliant people call each other with the intent of insult, are really things to be proud of. different is what we're all born and ment to be. =^^= .../\...
