Anybody up for hitchiking on a budget from Europe (I'm starting in sweden) and then either through Finland/Russia, or Turky/Iran to get to china/india/japan ? Anybody? =) peace sonfield
That idea is amazing, I planed a similiar trip as well but until now it didn't work out. Travelling along the ancient silk road must be incredible, there are so many wondeful spots. But it takes a lot of time, sadfully I don't have that much right now How far did you get with your plans? I'm really curious Actually I plan to backpack with a friend trough thailand or southern america for the upcoming summer, but this time I'll go thats for sure
well remember to apply all the visas way before you go! a visa to iran for instance takes at least 30 days.....
And somewhere don´t want to give you a visa if you was in the non-friendly country for their before, for example because of holiday (Asia). Also hitchhiking through the east Europe are sometimes different from the western part. In the west it´s about help or communication, in the east good chance like to earn money (Ukraine, Russia)....in the south (Serbia, Macedonia...) there are also lot of ,,taxis" )
I was thinking of coast to coast Russia or to China , a few of us driving( Cannonball run?)- say St Pete to Vladivostock , but Im a lazy bastard so probably wont get round to it for a while
