He's done okay with Middlesborough, but all we have if one successful season to judge him on... Are we really so short of decent managers that we pick "The man of the moment"? Can he help us to win the 2010 World Cup, or even the European Championships in a couple of years time?
Out of the English managers that were in contention (and we all know how much we needed an English manager) Steve McClaren is the best qualified imo, but to answer your question, no I don't think he has the capability to take us to World Cup 2010 glory. Me personally, I would have broken the bank to get a knowledgable foreign manager like Capello, Trappatoni, or Van Gaal. Scalori or Hiddink would have been even better but they turned us down.
I don't get all this sacking managers business:uhoh2: What we should do is publicly execute them in the centre circle following a defeat. Saddam had the right ideasama:
Ah, McClaren was never right. I think the board just felt a bit of pressure to select anyone English. It's exciting at the minute though, who knows who could get offered the job?
I keep seeing this guys name about with a lot of angry emoticons, exclamation marks and general excitement I have no idea what its about and really, really dont care Just eat cake and turn off the telly. It works for me
