This documentary is a must-watch for all thinking Americans, regardless of what party affiliation or ideology you subscribe to. It covers a wide range and cannot be confined to any "left right" way of thinking, which is becoming obsolete in today's world anyway.

It's by Aaron Russo and it's called "America: From Freedom to Fascism". If you're moved by it, please pass it along.

It always makes me laugh when right wing libertarians try to claim they are not right wing.

Russo was a right wing libertarian who formed the short lived Constitution Party with a right wing libertarian platform. He later stood as a Republican and later for right wing Libertarian Party which he called his "true political home”

And he supported the right wing, libertarian leaning, Republican, Ron Paul.

OH yes it is all soooooo clear that this man didn’t have any political leanings and his film is soooooo unbiased in any way.

Personally, i find most documentaries a waste of time.
they aren't in any way a reliable source of information.
they are incredibly biased (it's almost impossible not to be biased, to be biased is to be alive, basically).

really, i pity those that watch these things as if they were gospel truth.

(and i realize that in y'alls little world this makes me a republican, but, well, i just don't care anymore. your false dichotomies don't hurt anyone but yourselves).

First of all, Balbus, you're still trying to make it sound like a "left-right' issue when's it's an American issue. Did you ever bother to watch the documentary? Sounds like ya didn't. Not much more to be said here.

Now Eugene, you're the one I REALLY feel sorry for. Hmm, where to begin. Ok well, nobody ever claimed that this documentary, or any other for that matter, is the "gospel truth". (yet many people DO think of the mainstream corporate media as the "gospel truth" unfortunately)

And no, I don't think you're a republican. You actually sound like an MTV watching drone to be honest. You do, however (Like a typical lying republi-crat) twist truth around on its head. False dichotomies? We're the ones trying to CRUMBLE the false (invented) left-right/dem-repub dichotomy. YOU sound a lot like you're trying to PRESERVE the dichotomy while claiming otherwise. What I think you need is to WATCH a few documentaries so that way you can find some bits of truth in them and then learn to truly formulate YOUR OWN logical, coherent, and sound views on things. Then you'll be able to actually think for yourself instead of letting false gods do your thinking FOR you. Because you sound really silly spouting your mouth off about things you know absolutely nothing about. You remind me of one of those VH1-soundbite puppets.

Oh and...you should try watching the documentary above. Don't worry, it won't bite ya!

So, basically, i should form my own opinions by watching documentaries.

have you ever tried something, it's quite out of date but still useful, it's called reading a book.
    or even a newspaper.

and you did lump me into an either/or catergory. because i don't agree with your worldview i'm an "mtv-watching drone" (although i will admit i like daria and bevis and butthead back in middleschool).

Oh jeez, here we go. I have to spell out every little detail for you, don't I.

No, I didn't say to form your own opinions by watching documentaries. They are only a guide to HELP you, or to give you a basis. You watch a bunch of different programs on the same topic and pick and choose what YOU believe to be true. The stupidest thing you can do is to NOT watch anything of substance.

Yup, I read. Currently I'm finishing up on Daniel Pinchbeck's "2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl".

All you need to do is open up your mind. This is why Europeans and Canadians make fun of us Americans...because of people who think/talk/act like you. Get on the ball, dude.

completely irrelevant. who cares about the left, right dichotomy when the issues in question are universal? and of course he's biased, everyone is. why dont you bother giving the documentary a watch? then maybe come up with some criticisms or point out mis-information?

Thank you! But that would take too much independent critical thought. As Americans, we've grown so intellectually lazy that we actually forgot how to think for ourselves and rely on "authoritative" sources for our information that we now take as holy gospel. In fact the system has become so powerful that there are actually disinfo-operatives who willingly serve it.
And you're right, it IS a universal thing, but the dominant paradigm dictates the "left-right" system of thought and most of us buy into it. Slowly it's changing, but the rate is too slow and by the time the majority of Americans wake up, it may already be too late because the coup de tat is almost complete.

So what if you choose to not pay a federal income tax?

Do they have any type of justification of getting away with it, still? Seems so.

I just read something in the paper today indicating a couple having not payed their income tax for over 5 years or something, and they are just now taking them to court for it. So there must be some twist to it, were they can still get away with the tax.

I watched it. REAL interesting. I watch all kinds of stuff. I also watch REAL SHIT HAPPEN in REAL TIME, not that hard to make educated guesses on where it's all headed... Somebody doesn't want to watch an interesting documentary? Not interested in being educated. Too bad for them. Hey, they don't have to agree with me OR it. But if they are WRONG, guess they'll not be at all prepared if things go down... Yup, too bad for them...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjALf12PAWc The End of America by Naomi Wolf. I am not very surprised by many people elephant-in-the-room responses to what is said in the video. Some people just have the ability to deny the most obvious.

He didn't make a film about "not paying taxes", he made a film about how the taxing system is unconstitutional and illegal. Are you pretending to be retarded, or are you in actuality retarded?

Someone would have to be very naïve, blinkered or dumb to think this ‘documentary’ wasn’t about pushing a right wing viewpoint.

This is again a matter of something I’ve talked about before – http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104835

The appeal to American nationalism and ‘freedom’, the dependence on conspiracy theory and innuendo.

It’s been done before by the right wing John Birch Society who attacked ideological dislikes by claiming they were part of a left wing conspiracy that was trying to take away American ‘freedoms’ and ‘destroy a once great country’.

It’s very clear that some right wing libertarians are trying to use the same trick.

This is the standard conspiracy theories compiled into a nice video. The Federal Reserve is private, income tax is illegal. Standard stuff, comprehensively debunked.

This video has been posted many times, but try to debate it and the promoters just slither away mumbling insults about cointelpro.
