Check out the artwork of a variety of finalists in the Design Against Fur contest, sponsored by infurmation.com. There are a variety of approaches, from humor to the inherent worth of animals to fashion sense. Anyway, be sure to check out these professionally-done and thoughtful posters, which can be viewed online or downloaded and printed. http://www.infurmation.com/daf/daf2004/daf04us/4design.html
I am glad so many of the posters focus on fur trim. Animal groups have been slow to realize that the main force driving the modern fur market aren't necessarily rich socialites in ankle-length minks. It's the soccer mom in JC Penney with the dead arctic fox adorning the hood of her cloth parka. It's the upper-middle class teenager with her designer handbag made of dead rabbits dyed pink. It's the suburban wanna-be gangstas who think that wearing a leather coat edged in dead coyotes will make them look like their music world idols. These are the people the humane community needs to reach out to. Posters condemning ground-sweeping full-length furs are not in tune with who's buying the junk.
