I think they are just jealous, because you are probably a lot cooler and prettier than they are. That makes them feel insecure because they are raised with such a superficial media, that they become deffensive and feel the need to make you appear as an outcast so that way they look better than you. Doing this is all something to accomplish one goal: to make others think that they are better than you, thus making them feel better about themselves because they can't feel good about themselves without the approval of others, meaning they have low self esteem. That is their problem, nothing you have done I am sure.
I feel ya man ... It sucks when people are looking at you and u kno there thinking by the mean dirty looks on there face ... I get it here and there but not too often but when it happens u gotta brush it off cuz its not worth u getting upset ... you can atleast say your an individual and your happy with who you are and thats all that matters.Kyndveggie is right by u not judging them makes you a better person. Peace <3 katy
No problem. That is really the only reason I can think of as to why someone would call someone they don't even know a bitch... Not to mention, I don't like tat term anyway, reffering women to animals (female dogs) I think is a bit stupid.
I absolutly agree with this statement. I come from a pretty diverse town, but there are always the conservative people who have never questioned things. Who have never found individuality to be uplifting. Who have always looked at it as a rebel statement from some punk kid. Alot of people think that they can judge any book by its cover and cannot have open minds. ( I also believe that this is a big cause of racism..) What I do when approached by this type of ignorance and it frustrates me is SMILE! Smile huge and proud and right at the person. Look them right in thier eyes, let yours shine and give them a great big belly warming smile! It may really piss some people off, ( I actually was in a physical altercation because of this one time,) but for the most part people will eighther turn thier heads or smile back. That always made me feal better. Good luck to ya! *SMILE*
sometimes it's more than just dirty looks though. like the other day when some guy in a cowboy hat damn near clipped me and my kid with his pickup while we tried to cross the parking lot.
Yeh I get dirty looks, and comments. Especially at school, on free dress days. Mostly older guys, just say things about my clothes, or laugh at the way I look etcetc I guess I just don't really pay attention, coz I don't care what they think If your gonna be an individual, you'll always have to deal with shit like that (unfortunately), but I'd rather cop those nasty comments, and deal with those mean looks than conform!!! It gets worse when it moves from just being verbal to people throwing things, or seriously trying to hurt you. I've had older boys at school throw sticks and rocks, apple cores etc, at me. Just because I dress differently. But at the end of the day, there are people that do dig what you're trying to say, and they are proud of you for being an individual, so it's just really nice when people show that. Hahaha, exact same here In my 80s phase, I would sing a lot of Duran Duran aswell peace and love Jane
I can't go a week without people telling me to cut my hair. I don't even know the people, never met them before, and chances are we'll never see eachother after that, and they still feel obligated, as if it will have some sort effect on their lives. My non-me-ish friends always ask me who's on my sure, whether it be Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, or Rush. When I tell them who it is, they say "Wow, that's gay." My favorite of them though, is that since I was 9, if a shirt of mine was plain or I didn't like it that much, I'd wear it inside-out and backwards. If I like the design, I sew the tag onto the front of it. People act as if it's treasonous blasphemy. The hair thing annoys me, but this just makes me smile when I see the people who are so insulted by difference.
"The hair thing annoys me, but this just makes me smile when I see the people who are so insulted by difference." Keep it up man. F the naysayers...where your hair or anything else however the hell you want.
Wow, man, I totally spaced on this thread... i forgot I made it, man.. It's been ages since that happened, and I must say that I'm over it now and I've matured a fair bit, it doesn't really faze me anymore. Also, I might start laying off the pot, maybe I'll remember making threads XD
