I'm hoping that this post will make me feel better. I was in the Cheese Shop,(in Colonial Williamsburg) when I saw a cheese on display that I wanted to sample. The lady behind the counter gave me a sample on a crust of bread. When I was about to eat it this creep of a woman snapped my picture with my mouth hanging open. (I noticed because she used a flash.) When I turned around she could tell I was upset so she decided to make a smart remark. "I knew that you wouldn't just let me take your picture. I need it for my school paper." (W&M) The lady behind the counter said that the woman told her that she wanted to take pictures of the store and that she didn't know that the woman would do that. I felt just awful. I don't understand why people feel the need to embarrass people like that.
of course after the fact here are the suggestions... I would of told her that I don't mind my picture bein' taken as long as I am aware of it and that I don't look like I am in a mug shot. ESPECIALLY if this picture is goin' to be printed, maybe lessen the embarrassment.
I was walking my little boy around downtown and this homeless guy have him a yellow smiley face sticker that said "Jesus Loves You," and I stuck it on his little forehead. Then this lady came up and asked to take his picture for her art class and then asked my to write my name on this piece of paper... That's a lot more respectful than just snapping away at some poor, unassuming fellow. Jackie O said, "Never let them see you chew."
I take candid phots, but the people never know it.....check out this unflattering pic of a gguy,...and then these intoxicated people at 4 am in a bar...alright, never mind the second part, this thread simply isn't worth it
SHE TOOK YOUR SOUL!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! She was a bitch about it, but usually photographers get better shots when they are candid like that.
Why? I don't get why people do it. I understand it when you say you want a shot that doesn't looked posed but what about people that don't like their picture's taken? (Like Me) Don't I have a say? It just sounds creepy and mean to me. It would have been different if I was dressed nicely or had won an award but it was an awful picture. (She waited until I had my mouth wide open and was tring to eat a piece of food.) It just seemed like she was trying to embarrass me.
............I would have to agree, but relax their is still a chance it will not be picked for their paper.
some people are creepy like that. you should carry a taser with you. or give her a titty twister. then steal her camera and run away.
I've got to clarify my position. I just take pictures for myself and if I am walking around a city or in a park, I might take pictures that include the people that are around...the difference is that I don't work for a newspaper or magazine, and wouldn't distribute the pics to the general public.....except the one above, but that guy won't ever know I'm more into using the photos to document my experiences...
