I didn't really know where to post this. At first I thought it sounded like it may belong in the Love & Sex threads.

Yesterday while switching channels, I caught the last few minutes of the local news. The weatherwoman used the term Beaver Moon. The second time she said it, the two other weathermen were all giddy and soon had her laughing too. Curiosity sent me instantly to google (uhhh... don't try this at work).

Since I'm not really sure if it's technically Astrology, I'm putting it right here in Random Thoughts.

Here is the definition that the Farmers' Almanac provides...

    Full Beaver Moon - November
This was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon.
