been thinking about karma alot lately and ive decided that the worst kind is guilt. if anyone has experienced anything worse than share. peace
Karma is a man-made invention to explain certain things that just are. There is no karma and there certainly are no levels in karma. That being said, maybe I am wrong about everything.
oh sorry i mean from personal experience... bird migration, i respect your views and mabye their right... but you cant say what goes around doesn't come back around. it all fits for me...
What goes around does not always come back around. If that would be true do you think Bush would still be alive? Even by that small example I shook down the fundamental values of karma.
Death would be the easy way out for Dubya. Of course there's a great deal of debate as to how much of the policy is his decision or is he just a face to associate with the workings of more anonymous power brokers. Perhaps if it exists, karma doesn't conform to a time or dimensional timetable.
There is no such thing as karma. Its only use is to make the populace out there treat each other kindly.
im pretty sure "karma" has been reduced to: what goes around comes around . . . but in it's true hindu definition it's much more complicated than that
seems to me to be more of a system of spiritual evolution, rather than punishment. negative experiences teach us not to cause others pain-compassion, and positive experiences give us the strength to progress. really, the ideas about positive and negative experiences are human-made, but they are ideas that were made to describe a process of expansion the we are all experiencing whether we acknowledge or not.
The capacity to feel guilt seems to me to be something some people have way to much of while some seem to have little or none at all. One way or another though, whether by karma or just the law of relativity, balance seems to be an absolute law of nature, so guilt is ultimately overkill. I don't regard it as a virtue. Compassion should be what keeps us from hurting others, not guilt IMHO.
"in my country everyone shares with everyone... otherwise they shoot you" - latka gravas "no manure, no magic" - albert markovski karma doesn't mean you make fun of someone for tripping over a rock and seconds later you walk into a tree branch, and so you learn not to make fun of people (although it's great when stuff like that does happen ). it's way more complicated. what happens happens because it happens, but karma means (in the way i understand it) that everything that happens is a gift to every entity that it comes into contact with. and it also means that every event and every entity comes into contact with every other event or entity to varying degrees of comprehensibility. so everything is happening so that everything can happen.
How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours. ~Wayne Dyer My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground upon which I stand. ~Thich Nhat Hanh Men are not punished for their sins, but by them. ~Elbert Hubbard Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny. ~Tryon Edwards There are the waves and there is the wind, seen and unseen forces. Everyone has these same elements in their lives, the seen and unseen, karma and free will. ~Kuan Yin Whatever we do lays a seed in our deepest consciousness, and one day that seed will grow. ~Sakyong Mipham Like gravity, karma is so basic we often don't even notice it. ~Sakyong Mipham
