Cashing in the 401K

not $401K its my 401k retirement fund. I wish it had $401,000.00 in it. There is a chunk of money in it for sure but not even close to $401K. Its just a name they give certain retirement funds here in the US.

 

they cream you on takin it out early,income tax plus 10% of the gross if im not mistaken.

that and the fact the taxes will be based on that bein lumped into your income for the year,so if ya have 50k in it an make 50 k that year youll be in a 100k tax bracket for that year,,.. ouch


why not just put it in a ira? have you talked to a accountant about your options?

 

How do you take money out of your 401K? I have a few grand saved up and I want to put it on cds

 

Each one varies but the basics is you ask for it they send you forms, you fill em out and wella "The check is in the mail"
