How many times had everyone been sold some ridiculously named strain that is just normal generic buds? I've been sold "blueberry ice" from a guy who isnt my normal dealer, compared it to the weed I got from my normal guy, and it was exactly the same. Same shade of green, same structure, density and crystalness. Ever since then the second a dealer says that bud is ________ strain I completely ignore it, and only form opinions on bud once it is in my lungs.
it's usually a marketing tactic. every merchant wants to appear to carry high quality goods. this is some strawberry-haze kush dro, it'll get you higher than anything you've ever had before, it washes your car, one size fits all, screens your calls, available in five colors, slices & dices, free brochure...
If I'm pretty sure they don't have a gun (mostly hippies here) then I tell them to shut it. 90% of the people who throw that shit on me are faking it. If it's really good, my hippie guy just tells me to look at some of the purple hairs or whatever instead of using names. Probably because he doesn't know what it is either.
My guy will be like, "Yeah so supposedly this is (Insert Boutique strain here), but I dont know how accurate that is. I can tell you though that it gets ya fucked up."
Its the same thing as E pills. People will tell you they got like tripple stacked blah blah blah....its just a way to sell shit. I remember I used to get beasters for $30 an 1/8 and tell people it was some danks and sell it for $50.
