Looks have nothing to do with how high a bud gets you?

I noticed that most of the good-looking buds I find are the shittier ones... The high is weaker IMO.

I know a lot of my friends who pick up any bud that looks good and they say they're high as fuck, but I don't seem to get the same effect. Placebo for them? For me?

I usually check by the smell. I find that my nose is pretty well-trained to pick up on chronic and I am almost always correct, I get BLAZED.

I'm a major believer that the only way to find out how high you'll get is to smoke one. Fortunately, most of the dealers I've ever known (older guys) will smoke one with you before you buy.
We had this stuff that my mother-in-law's friend grew... looked like absolute shit, smelled like hay.. tasted great and got you stupid-stoned. That's how it is when you get older peoples' home-grown. But on the other hand, we also got some stuff that looked totally killer and smelled great (from another friend's dad) and sure enough, it was awesome. The only way to tell is to smoke it and find out.
