Ever since I came across knitty.com's knucks pattern, I thought they were not only great, but an awesome way to use up sock yarn instead of making more socks. So, I whipped up these two pairs: a pair for him - the husband, I mean and a pair for myself. Granted they may be made from thinner yarn, but they're surprisingly warm and campily comfortable.
Oh, those are so bad-ass! I would love a pair. Do you think the pattern could be easily modified to make the fingers and wrists longer?
lace and feet - totally... you can make the fingers as long as you want, as well as the cuffs. As long as you've got the yarn to do it, it's completely adjustable!
i want to find a pattern for some convertible mittens.... they are like those, but have a mitten part that you can pull over the fingers....is what i'm saying making sense?
Totally making sense. Found one pattern here - yarn can obviously be substituted if you don't want to use this one. I'm sure there's more but that's the first one that popped up when I did a google search. Hope that helped.
yw Some knitting pattern books will also carry patterns for these - you're more likely to find these as a 'mens mittens' pattern, but can always be adjusted to fit other hands.
