Yes my entire Christmas year is done from my computer. I can get clothes, fine wines, food, electronics ect right here online. No parking issues, no rush lines, no people deal with and they deliver too!

we dont buy into the Christmas/holiday gift giving bullshit.feed the monster for a year in a month? i dont think so..

i do shop online when i need something that i cant get locally or if its cheaper online..being in a rural area and having a disdain for society in general i find it convenient and practical.

my wife likes the ritual of packages and wrapping paper, so i go along with it to keep her happy. i'm not that interested in it myself. and neither of us are christians. she's baha'i and we have our own gift giving parties on intercalery days that fall at the end of february. i'm what you might call agnosticly inclined myself, but see no harm in a winter solstice feast day. i think i've finally convinced her to do the thing with the pretty packages on the actual solstice instead of the 25th.

and i really like and would much prefer the boycotting of the whole capitolist feeding frenzie thing entirely. especially since we don't have any kids (thank the big friendly and nontangable and all the little friendly and nontangables too).

other then ourselves and each other. and i don't see why we can't just give each other stuff any time, without all the big deal and fancy wrapping paper.

but i guess it's still some kind of a big deal for her.

might want to consider buying gifts that are made locally...online purchases can be cheaper monetarily while being extremely expensive environmentally what with all the fuel used to fly and truck them all over the world. in most places, there are almost always local craftspeople who do nice work.

I bought some jewelry online, other than that I've gone to stores to buy gifts.

Having no car and living in a tiny town with the only means of retail being gas stations and the dollar store about 4 miles away, we do a large amount of online shopping. It's so much easier to have things delivered to us, lol.

Well Im not a crafty type of guy and likely the items required to make there goods required them same trucks to move around and besides why would I want to put a truck driver out of work?

I'll occasionally buy from ebay if I can get a good deal on something, but I'm not one to shop, generally speaking, either online or in a brick-and-mortar store.

One might argue the anti-truck-driver defeanse - why not be craftier instead of relying on pollution-making sources to transport out-of-town goods? (just playing devil's advocate)

But why put truck drivers out of work and EPA employees and paid employees for air quality control and groups that protest ect. Look at all that income lost. Polution pays! :) lol
