our computers here at the house are rather archaic in nature and pretty bare boned overall.... i have received an email with a .pub file and i need to have the thing open, are there free programs that have ability to open these files or am i screwed ...
Here is another option. https://createpdf.adobe.com/index.pl You can convert the ".pub" file to a ".pdf" file. PDF files will open with any normal Adobe Reader. Here is a link to the Adobe Reader application if you don't already have it installed. Most computers may already have Adobe Reader install. Just in case, here is the link. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html First you convert the file with CreatePDF. Then you can open the file with Adobe Reader. If you are concerned about legitimacy, everything I posted is completely legal. It is also free to download. -- -- -- The other option is to have the original creator (of the ".pub" file) to save the file as a different extension type. For example, he can save the file as a ".pdf" before he sends it to you. Maybe you could notify the person that you cannot open pub files. They can most definitely save the file as a different extension type. -joe
