A thought just sprang to me that one trip may be quite different from another trip based solely upon astrology. You know, allignment of planets, the equinox, solstic whatnot. I'm wondering, does anybody take such things into account when planning your trips and what do you do exactly? What are some prominent days in the year? Any good ones coming up? I know for one, I'm going to be ushering in december 21, 2012 on some mushrooms. But any other good times?
I realize that cosmology effects not only our psychedelic trips, but it affects every single activity in our entire life, down to the most minute detail. I dont have much interest in westeren astrology as I am Hindu, but with the Hindu appraoch to it, not only does it include the 4 distinct Yugas (remember that thread where I was saying 2012 is but a transition of a minor transition in human consciousness evolution?) but it includes karma and reincarnation. You are born according to everything being in tune, the cosmos accordingly. And what happens in your lifetime that you must react to or envelop happens at the exact times, in tune with the stars. Swami Sri Yukteswar used to tell Yogananda and his friend to wear astral bangles in order to radiate a source of positive energy to combat the negative pulls of the universe, so as to cure disease and other such problems. But I would only accept the advice of a TRUE scientific guru, one who knows astrology beyond simple cause and effect. Here, I made a post in another thread about what I know of it, I see if I can dig it up!
My post from a pervious thread : Well Im not very learned in the science of Astrology, and to be honeset, I dont think many people are besides the few illumined saints who have attained certain leves of God-communion, and I believe that their ability to read the cosmos is rooted in tuned proper intuition, rather than numbers, symbols, and star positions. But the way I understand it to be, is that when you are conceived, obviously the medulla oblongota come first, and this is your astral cerebro-spinal radio unit, which recieves various and ever-changing (according to your soul-progression or devolution) level's of prana, cosmic life-energy, food from the mouth of God, Christ Conciousness, etc. whatever you want to call it, or know it by. And the nervous system branches out from this astral spinal center, into the brain, and into the body, setting up your organic computer of perceptability, receptability, and processing/utilyzing/data bank memory etc. Basically, your entire physical being, that of which is but a unti of frequencey interpretaion. But the single cell from which your billions of gross-bodily cells (functioning in unision with an underlying current) come from, the singularity of the beginning of your creation, is that direct link between you and your astral body, free in the dreamscape cosmos of the astral plane. Also, the mental, or causal body, descends it's thought molecules (for lack of a better substance-alluding-to word, since their is no English word for it, other than thought-trons) through this transition of spiritual to gross-physical at the time of birth. The soul that you actually *are* fights amongst myriad souls to gain access to a mother's womb, in order to grow embryonically into a physical baby body, later to be born. Whichever soul at that precise, predetermined moment, gains it's place in transitioning to the physical plane from out the other side of the ether (the 5th element according to the 5 elemental properties of Prakriti {Mother Nature} which are : 1. Prithvi (Earth) 2. Jal (Water) 3. Agni (Fire) 4. Vayu (Air) 5. Akasha (Ether) Respecfully.) *This is why we pray on japa mala with the thumb (representing Earth, the fattest finger, the gross manifestation of matter, and the middle finger, the longest finger, representing Fire, as in the fire rituals of the soul according to many Hindu sectarian practices) So, the soul makes this predestined transition into a physical form according to it's place in moment's of perceived physical time, by way of one's accumulated positive and negative karma. Your inherited karma, from your immediatley previous lifetime and your lifetimes collectively combined, determine for you exactly what you will look like, what your personality will be like, what kind of good and bad things are to come to you, when they will occur, and this entire fluxuating database of physical "YOU-ness" is sort of like a preprogrammed code, the genetic code mapping out every single minute detail of your DNA strand. The soul gather's all of this around itself like a cloak in the astral and physical planes upon a physical bodies ascension (after death) through the lower leves of heaven, and when it is born, everything plays itself out accordingly. This is why we are the way we are, this is why identical twins, who come from the same parents at the exact same moment of conception, where two soul's enter through the screen of physical reality at the prescisely same moment, who share the exact genetic makeup DNA, still have individually different soul-qualities, and though their physical appearance is the same on every level of perception, their is still one unique physical detail that can determine between the two in order to identify that difference, and that is the fingerprints. Fingerprints are markings from God, the soul qualities, that are different for every living human sentient being. And anyway, to get to the point of astrology, man is made in the image of God according to many religious scriptures, and though I tend to understand life and existance itself to be an actual dream that God had (sending forth Om, the spritual sound of singularity, the big bang of creation, the light of love that seperates Us & Them), the universe, the cosmos themselves, can be understood as God's physical collective body in a sort of way, and we are a reflection of this. We are the microcosmic, perceiving and living in and under the veil of the macrocosmic. The stars, the moons, the planets, the galaxies, the nebulae gaseous clouds, etc. everything contained in the universe, is so contained in a fasion that is belonging to the product of an immense, mathematical (beyond total mental comprehension), natural order, on a scale so large that we appear to be going backwards by going forwards, against the grain of reality, and we are a reflection of it, as well as it, itself, is a reflection, of us. The gravity that affects our mental state, the pull of the radiant celestial bodies, the alignment that causes perceptible natural occurences on our very own planet, are determined to be this way exactly as they are, by order of the grand conductor/projector, and according to our own thought-matter. Certain astrological occurences affect how you are, what you do, what thoughts "dawn upon" your conciousness (apparently not results of our own thinking, but seemingly rather happening to our minds, enacted upon by outside forces), what kind of situations will come to you (either good or bad, positive or negative) and so on and so forth, according to your karmic equations. Under the proper guidance of certain 'in the know' guru's, apparently, we can learn how to avoid certain things, like diseases, 'accidnets', problems in love, life, etc. by reading our astrological chart. The cosmos are arranged in an exact proper order for you when your soul makes the transition to this side of existance, and they flux and bend for you in order to make certain things happen for or to you, and they also affect your personality tremendously. Also, the cosmological rendering of your 'sign' is not according to the moment in which you were born against the backdrop of time and space, but rather, is according to your moment of conception, the moment the soul comes in from within. Just my opinion and thoughts, and I admit that I have NO basis in Hindu astrology as to how to read the cosmological dreamscape. But this is how it's supposedly working, mechanically, against us or for us, to bring us closer to Truth or farther away, by nothing else than our own karmic activity. -
Inside the mother's womb, wrapped in blankets of our Divine Mother's eternal divine love for us, the cosmological womb of Nature, our soul is weaved next to magically under the starry skies and warm atmosphere, created and conceived by plans so detailed that we are blind to them. The Cosmic Garden flux of rae bright sunlight waves of harmonic organic overgrowth, brings forth vast fields of dream- like nature, bubbling meadows of atom blossoms, molecular liquid sounds, though matter thought-trons, lieftronic embryo capsules swallow energy yeilding positive existant beings, walking, thinking, living, under the bright sun of God's love
new moon and full moon are good times to trip. the only problem with that is the slim chance that they fall on a day you dont have priorities to take care of.
He says he's a Hindu. Fun stuff that Hinduism is. You can pick a god or goddess you identify with & go nuts. I'm partial to Krishna myself. I suggest trying out chanting the Hari Krishna chant sometime.
Hmmm.....well haha I will try and answer this the best way possible. If I was to classify where the majority of structured scripture, teaching, holy books, philosophy, and perception came from originally, largely I was influenced by and still in some way consider myself Vaishnava. But I was raised Muslim (and believe that Mohammed also received divine perception but obviously, being surrounded by people who havent, was highly misunderstood and perceived to be, like Jesus, beyond the level of attainment of other men.), and also raised Christian by means of my parents divorce and eventual remarraige. I have studied and continue to study vast amounts of Buddhist scripture (which I believe originally, was not atheist). many different philosophies and scriptures from the different denominations of Hinduism, the major 4 Veda's, Upanishads, etc. I've studied the I-Ching fairly extensivley, the Holy Quar'an (in 5 different translations and 2 different languages), the Christian Bible, the Tibetan Book of the Dead in it's entirety (full English translation), the Tao Te Ching, and many other scriptures that I cant recall at the moment. But basically what it comes down to is I live by and accept the Bhagavad Gita as my main Holy Book, because at least the way I interpret it to be, it is non deonminational, non sectarian, and embraces all perceptions on God and Love, self-discipline, and appraoch to living harmoniously with human family, animal, plant, Mother Nature, and cosmos proper. My guru is Swami Sri Yukteswar (though obviously he is not presently living in a material body) and the source for my coming to terms with Love are both Yogananda Paramahansa Yogananda and Jesus Christ. I guess my true religion is the One religion, to embrace all as the One Same Thing, the divine love of God is equal for all of us, and I believe that through practice and self-discipline we may all realize God and awaken our 3rd eye. The joining together of the Devi and Shiva, ascending the tree of life, the divine external manifestation of spirit and awakening in the Mind of God. Enlightenment, Moksha, Nirvikalpa Samadhi Love is my religion and I try and cultivate it, understand it, share it, and live it to the fullest, because everything else metaphysical and spiritual that I've experienced tends to be much to overwhelming and brilliant for my finite, weak mind to comprehend and understand, much less make proper use of. I believe that Love is the most simple and most complex reality, and that it is indeed the only reality. What about you? Have you a religion? Im very curious ry! Namaste Family -
In a way yes this is true, but the gods and goddesses are varying aspects of the One reality. Vaishnavism is monotheistic in essence, the different aspects and portayals of God are done so in order that people who have trouble embracing the Absolute, Brahama Form can have something to grasp onto and make meditation, bhakti, and prayer easier. -
Oh, now I understand, to love Krishna is to love Vishnu. It's all about the peace & love. And astrology OP- Solstices & Equinoxes are pretty cool.
No that just wouldn't make any sense lol though it's kind of humurous that you would even ask. I dont know if your being serious and asking a legitimate question or if your trying to make a joke (sorry the interenet is not good for sarcasm, I can never tell!) so I will answer as if you are being sincere. Vishnu is Krsna, and Krsna is Vishnu. Krsna, apparently, was an incarnation of Vishnu, come here at a time of desperation in order to teach us the science of Raja (royal) yoga, or more accuratley, Kriya Yoga. But this is just a story in order that people can understand, and Krsna's form is just a depiction created by men also to help people have something that to them is more tangible than the Absolute Form. But Krsna, in reality, is a representation of all of our individual souls, and Arjuna, the devotee, is a representation of all of our indiviudal personalities. It is an esoteric story of not a discussion going on at a battlefield, but rather about the daily battle of Mind (manas) vs. Soul (atma) that takes place everytime we go to meditate and try and silence the thoughts, so that God's presence may be felt.
Right! haha you got it my friend Peace be with you and your family, and good health. Namaste Family! -
Im no longer muslim, that's for sure. But I also dont recall posting any hateful things in the Islam forum??? I still read the Quar'an for insight to this day!
guitarman are you sure you dont have me confused with someone else? Because I have nothing but the highest respect for Mohammed and am in fact right now in the middle of reading two different tranlations with commentary on the Holy Book. I can not consider myself a Muslim due to the rules that I dont follow according to the Book and to the Hadith, but that doesnt mean that I dont respect the al-Islam. And if anyone with an open mind were to read about the Holy Prophet's inital encounters with the Angel they would see that it is (if I may speak freely here of my own interpretation) no different than many other accounts of people becoming enlightened or receiving divine intervention. Like the Muslim states, Christ was nothing more than a man, a prophet but not the sole begotten son of God, I agree. Many men and women have attained Sat Chit Ananda. But my biggest difference with al-Islam is that I do not see Mohammed as being the last one to do this, in fact I think it happens all the time and it is the destiny of each one of us (though my idea comes from reincarnation and karma, which is the other huge difference lol) Assalamu alaikum my friend and if I have offended you without realizing than I truly apologize. -
Ok now I understand! Im glad we can settle our differences, beacuse apparently our differences arent that vast! The Quar'an is a book that I read very frequently, and if people can get past the ancient history of diversity amongst the Jews and Christians, the book is littered with gems of wisdom, insight, and self-discipline. People just need to be more open minded
