What ShadowShifta said, and also by the end of the episode, Homer accepts the possibility that Bart may be gay and tells him, "Anyway, you choose to live your life is okay with me." It has to be one of my favourite Simpsons episodes of all-time. Wonderfully written and absolutely hilarious without being offensive. They really walked a fine line with it. It shows that homophobia is prevalent in society through Homer's reaction to Bart hanging out with a new family friend (played by Jon Waters) who happens to be gay. I don't like stereotypes and this episode is full of them but watching how Homer reacts to them is just plain funny.
