For the last year i've been drinking very strongly to avoid stress/problems. On average of 400ml at a time of 80 proof and chasing that down with several sleeping pills. Then I tried marijuana and realized that even though it isnt nearly as strong, it relaxes me for about 24 hours which is a really nice effect. This has led me away from strong drinks(I still drink 3.9) and I just have to wonder why the healthy alternative is illegal? They say marijuana is a gate way drug... They say it kills your brain and body. But they're ok with something that eats your body alive and makes you look 50 when you're 30... And people trust our government?
hehe yah I havent trusted our government for years now. If anything is a gateway drug its alcohol. On the street corners, in resaurants, in cvs', in your parnets cabinets. Its EVERYWHERE. When I got caught smoking and I had stop I would just drink, my life went such downhill. Everyperson I know that got caught smoking went to something else and just ended up like 10x worse. My one freind had to get drug tested so he started up on coke and heroin. Now hes in a rehab for the next 5 months and hes been there 7 months already. I dont know how people can say marijuana kills the brain and body when nobody has ever died in the history of marijuana use yet thousands die every year from alcohol.
On the contrary. I feel Alcahol has helped me more than weed has. Dont get me wrong, I love weed and it changes my life for the better to an extent. But I feel Alcahol has also made me a better person. First of all it is legal and so you dont have to hide your habbit. But mainly in has helped me in social situations. Last night I got drunk with my friends, we went walking round town, re-organising road cones, climbing trees and other childish behaviour which I like. Alchahol has made me adventurous and close to my friends. If I think back on all the crazy nights Ive had, I realise alcahol has made me acheive more. But you are right about the government being dicks and stuff.
I think everyone here argees with you. Its complete bullshit. The only reason they outlawed weed was because they thought it was bringing in mexicans. So then they hired a dude to find a reason why they could ban it. And the guy looking didnt even think it should be illegal. It took like 2-3 tries for congress to buy one of there BS reasons too.
i wonder how the courts would react if you brought this up....say you got caught or whatever and the courts said you needed to have drug tests and all that bullshit...telling them (whether true or not) that you are a recovered alcoholic and marijuana helped get over your alcohol addiction....since being sober (of alcohol) your life has been flipped upside down...got a job, a house, a family...and if they were to force you to stop smoking pot then you know you will eventually go back to drinking....what do you think they would say
put down the pot and pick up the bottle. those in charge do not have our best interests in mind... how did they get elected again?
Please don't make alcohol a part of your "life"... It is a drug, it has its place, but you DO NOT NEED IT FOR ANYTHING!!!! Alcohol is more importantly NOT an excuse for misbehavior!!!! You are responsible for your actions with or without a drug... its NOT ok to drink and act an ass. That is NOT "achieving" anything! Smoke some herb and really think about it! Someone, please, PLEASE inform me how drinking alcohol and being an asshole is accepted, but smoking a joint and chillin out is not???? Which is more socially corrosive???? Or for that matter, which is and which isn't????
yea i agree, crankyelbow. when i tell some people that i smoke they're like "WHY? that's so bad!" and yet they think nothing of getting drunk which is a whole lot worse than smoking a blunt. fuck the government. i fucking hate them
the first time I got seriously DRUNK, I almost died (true story - wound up in detox). the first time I got seriously high, I didnt even come close to dying. now which of these would you assume to be less-harmful? it´s very important to realize that alochol is a dangerous drug. with responsible use, it doesnt have to be dangerous for you. start looking at all drugs as DRUGS and think about how their use affects your life. drink coffee in the morning? do you occassionally go a day without it? do you notice a difference between days you have it and days you dont? as long as you have balance in your life while still taking these substances, you´re probably OK. if there´s any aspect at all about a drug that you dont like or feel that it´s too much of a negative, re-think why you´re taking it.
Please dont call me an asshole, Organising roadcones is a constructive activity, aimed to make the audience the next morning laugh. Climbing trees is fun. You dont know who I am and dont know the context to which I use alcahol to help me. I know I dont need it but it is a part of my life, Just like smoking is apart of many peoples here. I simply gave my opinion and no opinion is wrong.
