Hey I was wondering if you can get high off of sleep aids? The reason I'm asking this is because I have a bit of insomnia and was thinking about getting some pills.

You have insomnia, so instead of taking them to sleep, you;re going to the doctor with the intention to get high and to hell with the insomnia? Wow.

Your answer is yes. Ambien, Lunesta, ect. More then likely what you come back with will do something.

Actually I plan on going there with the intention to deal with my insomnia but in case I ever feel like getting high, I'm not trying to say this will be a every day occurence or something.

Lunesta is a better sleep aid. Ambien is dangerous as fuck. Sleepwalking out around town or driving places in your sleep and doing all sorts of other crazy shit. Look it up. Though for getting high Ambien is probably better.

Just dont get zopiclone (I forget the brand name) but it sucks.

It gives you the shittiest taste in your mouth and barely knocks you out. You just WISH you were sleeping.

Honestly, avoid sleeping pills if you can. You might start out just wanting to try out their lame high, but since you have insomnia you might realize how much easier it is to sleep with them, until you're taking them every night, because its easier.

And then before you know it you wind up not being able to sleep without them, and then your toleranance goes up, sometimes the medication becomes completely ineffective, and you get more meds added to your prescription, and getting clean becomes harder and harder and harder...

The greatest sleep aid is weed.

It's a bit different. If you're on benzos for anxiety and want to withdraw, it's acceptable to endure some extra anxiety as your dosage is slowly tapered.

if you're on benzos for sleep (next step after lunesta/ambien become ineffective) and can't sleep without that exact amount, 3 days in a row with no sleep is a lot more difficult to tolerate, as a doctor attempts to taper your dosage.

Weed is indeed the best sleep aid, in my opinion. Doesn't rob you of mental restoration as many sleep aids do. Though I feel a 'hangover' for about 5 minutes when I wake up in the morning after going to sleep high.

Ive never used Ambien, but a good friend told me all about his adventures with it. he said it lasts about 20 minutes, and makes you fade in and out of consciousness, while you walk around and talk to people who arent there. Fuck that, I say. I have however used Lunesta, and it is a whole 'nother ballpark. because it is instant release and extended release, if you snort it, it kicks in within a minute, tops. It lasts about five hours, and is the pharmaceutical equivalent of mushrooms, in my opinion. I liked it, but its not as good as benzos.

I just want to clarify, I've been through sleeping pill hell, been prescribed at least 10 different meds specifically for insomnia, and I would not wish this shit on anyone. I think I'm a rather extreme case, but it can happen.

I posted only with good intentions.

I normally would not comment, but in this case just wanted to give my 2 cents because if anyone does get started on this stuff, it should be because their insomnia is terrible, not because they wanted to try out a lame high.

I know what'll likely happen if the OP does get a script is that he'll find that this stuff is next to useless for recreational purposes, start using it for insomnia that he does have, and then from there it does open the possibility that he won't be able to sleep without it. And even if it doesn't go any further than Ambien, it still sucks ass not being able to sleep without taking pills.

These drugs are pretty intense and dangerous. I highly recommend that you stay away from these drugs, especially if you're going to use them to get high; It may be lethal.

I took 10mg Ambien for the third time yesterday. I sat there for 15 minutes only feeling a little heavy. I thought that it wasn't gonna work this time, so I got up to walk upstairs and as I walked, I was slow, and kinda slumping along. The ground felt like I was speeding past it, like I was riding a bike. I wasn't hallucinating like I usually do when I take it. I would occasionally drift off into a dream like state of mind. I kept forgetting where I was or what I was doing. After about an hour of stumbling around the house, I decided to go to bed. But I forgot to sleep when I got there, and sat there in my bed looking around. I kept looking at a glass of milk that was on my dresser, I thought a little tiny minotaur made of milk was gonna rise up out of it and get milk everywhere. lol. then I looked around, I thought my light was a bug, I went doube visioned and thought there were two bugs. my vision came back to normal, then double, then normal, etc... I thought there were two bugs having sex on my ceiling. then I decided to go to sleep (again) and rolled over, but I suddenly thought my pillow was a red and white bug. A comfy, squishy bug,. I put my head on it and couldn't sleep
for what felt like hours. I awoke 5hours later, listened to music, and posted this.

^man this really lacks in personality, kinda sounds robotic. (atleast thats how I read it)

EDIT:its been 8 hours since ve posted this, I went back to sleep. The first tiem I did ambien was kinda funny. The second was even funnier. This one was kinda exciting for an hour, but after that it was incredibly annoying, and I felt like shit. Im gonna do it again, if it feels like shit again then Im done.
