the other day i came to the realization that i don't have to fight the dark side of myself anymore. i accept it as a part of who i am. i have the dark side that is fearful and negative and i have the light side that is loving and compassionate. and this is true of everyone, right? we all have these two sides?

my question is where does your innate buddha nature come into this? i have this light and this dark. is accepting both the key to that nature? is the light side my buddha nature or does it go beyond both of them?

or is it that once you accept your dark side, it ceases to be dark? i have felt some sort of peace since this feeling of acceptance, but also confusion about how it plays into the clarity of my true self that i have come to know through meditation.

we all have a dual nature...an internal struggle...it's part of being human. so you may as well accept it.

ok, but what about those who are fully enlightened, people who live in the present moment with clarity and peace? do they still have an internal struggle, a dark and a light side?

To be enlightened, one has a profound sense of compassion. So powerful is this compassion, that you can't cause pain to others without feeling what they feel.

All living things, and all inanimate matter, becomes your actual physical body.

You encompass all of creation. This includes the notion of light and dark. Neither has any meaning except for descriptive purposes in conversation with others. The moment you place value on either, you have gone off on a tangent that leads to an endless debate. This is a place of mind, not spirit.

The human animal that is wrapped around your soul belongs totally to the mind. Once the mind has been made quiet, the animal and all it's "bad" qualities is placed in service to the soul rather than dominating over it.

Its not that saints don't have a human animal inside of them. They can be animals any time they want. The point is, they don't allow it to sit in the driver's seat.

Any force, even a poisonous emotion, when free of constraints of mind, if coupled with awareness, is free as Buddha, and dissolves in place. You have alot of experience now you should get thee to Dzogchen.

It's something you need to research, but it can help maybe with your seeking in extremes for things.
