Have you ever been out somewhere and ran out of diapers? Yikes, the other day I had to use a washcloth, plastic bag and masking tape lol!!! Good thing it was a short drive home! Anyone have a funny makeshift diaper story?

We have emptied all the poopie out of the diaper, put a paper towel in it and put the diaper back on in an emergency.

    lol, that's funny!
We have ran out of daipers before, but I always have a stash of cloth daipers on hand just incase at home. As for being out, I have ran into a situation where I had no daiper to put on her, but usually I'm in walmart or something close to a store like that, and i just go open a bag of daipers, change her, and then go pay for the new bag.
Not nearly as entertaining as your story though!!!! LOL

I've used pillowcases, towels, recieving blankets, and t-shirts. Nothing like a cloth-diapered baby during rainy season.:)

My mom recently performed a "creative diapering" proceedure on one of my nephews. She ran out of rubber pants and rather than put Jacob in a disposable, she pinnned a fresh cloth diaper back on the baby, cut out the bottom corners of a Glad Kitchen-Catcher plastic garbage bag, pulled the plastic bag over Jacob's diaper like a pair of rubber pants, and pin fastened the plastic bag to the cloth diaper using two diaper pins.

I didn't see my moms handy work first hand, but she took a digital photo of the emergency diaper so I'm sure the next time I'm over visiting her I'll get to see it! Funny what a mom or a grandma will do when they need a diaper.

I still think a disposable diaper using mother can't loose in picking up a dozen flat cloth diapers, a few pairs of rubber pants, and a couple sets of diaper pins for emergency times. Likewise for cloth diaper using mothers-- a package of disposable diapers in the closet.
