Im really close to him so i most deffinetly have to get him something i just dont know what! Its too late to order anything off the internet... so im in a little bit of a rut.

Maybe you guys can gimme some clues on what i should get?
Hes a hippie guy, He loves grateful dead. He plays guitar and base. He loves music, but he has like everything i feel like he could want. I just cant think of what to get him...?

I'd get my dad a ticket to go to hell!

Thought about getting him some older music playing media? Like an 8 track player? You might be able to find him one on ebay for cheap.

Find some extremely cool and obscure album/record on e-bay... or you could just make him a great Grateful Dead mixtape... it's probably not that hard, LOTS of stuff to choose from, and it's easy to make the tape run together well in transition between songs. Give the tape a catchy name... and I think that he'd appreciate the idea, especially if the tape is actually good.

Throw in a joint with whatever you give.

I'm getting my dad a digital photo camera. Maybe you could get your boyfriend's dad something like that...

she who? i always forget and take everything globaly and in general. i didn't realize we were trying to guess what one particular person's dad would want or enjoy.

my appologies if i mispoke out of turn doing so.

that would be kind of odd finding a gravestone gift wrapped under the tree. someone might think the mob was after them or something.

no i wouln'd want that to happen. just remarking in a more general sense that maybe not everyone's dad is still alive.

I used to get so sad whenever I bought a present for my dad. I would put all this thought in trying to get him something especial and that it was very him, always looking for something original and he showed NO appreciation whenever I got him anything, sometimes he wouldnt even open the gift :(, so I stopped giving him presents.
I love getting presents for people, but things I see or come to my mind that I know the person would like. I'm uncomfortable receiving presents though

i'm uncomfortable with supporting capitolism, but i have no problem with the idea of giving AND receiving tecnologies someone might be able to be creative with. not that i expect to get much when i can't even really afford get much of anything to give anyone.

well there's just me and my wife and my 90 year old mom really anyway.

that's sad about the guy who didn't appreciate anything. although i'm not always very domonstrative of my appreciation i generally try to mention it. i mean i always appreciate the idea reguardless. i know someone who doesn't do the gift thing at midwinter at all, who has kids, well there all of an age just about ready to leave home now, who kind of wish he would have. but he does do the gift exchange thing on intercelary days at the end of february and i don't think he's that kind of entirely unapreaciative, although i can't be entirely sure.

my wife gives me money every year to go get her something and wrap it up so i can give her something. i don't always know what to get her so this year i mostly got a bunch of stuff for the house that i know we both needed. i went a little crazy because she gave me more then i expected this time to be able to do so.

she got me something too, but she hasn't wrapped the box yet so i don't even know what size and shape that will be. we plan on opening ours on the solstice this year. finally.
