Hey, I've tried Salvia a good few times now and I'm just kinda worried that I take a little too much.

I allways do one hit, as big as I can and hold for 20ish seconds.

Thats with 40x, 21x and 17x, I've had some really enlightening and mystical experiences, but I'm wondering if I'm doing too much? I'm allways totally out of control, I cant remember ANYTHING I've done in the real world when I come back. I dont break anything or harm myself, I allways have a sitter present. I'm just wondering if the substance itself is doing me any harm because I seem to be taking much more than what's recomended?

1/6-1/4g of 40x, I LOVE the experiences at this level but is it damaging?

    Thanks

No one here is going to be able to give you an educated awnser on that Onyx, sorry. There has been very little research done on salvia and its potential dangers or its "safe" dosages, like someone once elequently said about mdma "we are all canaries in the coal mine on this one". One obvious potential damaging effect is lung and throat problems, inhaling hot smoke frequently from any source, wether it be cigarette smoke, bonfire smoke or salvia smoke has been thoroughly proven to damage the respitory system. Also keep in mind that the class of drug the main active chemical found in salvia lies in are called kappa opioid agonists. These types of agonists all produce a psychotomimetic effect, which basically means they mimic the symptoms of psychosis, like a loss of contact with reality, hallucinations and delusions and usually dysphoria which is the opposite of euphoria. As you can imagine excessive use of these chemicals at high doses could lead to the onset of mental illnesses in susceptible individuals aswell as other many potential psychological problems. But like I said, basically no one can say what a "safe" amount to use is, the research hasn't been carried out.

No news on whether or not the active substances in Salvia are, in fact, damaging. The only real risk associated with the substance is the OOBE's, and the loss of control of the body this far (and what Stiney has already stated). Just be aware of usage patterns; if you start asking whether or not you are taking too much, you may be.
