You're right. It's not just christmas, it's every holiday. And did you know that some of them were made up by the card companies??

 

No offense, but this thing about "santa" giving your child only 1 present each year is a pretty shitty deal. Christmas is about kids, and if that means you have to go out and buy a bunch of presents to put under the tree for your kid to open then you do it for him, not because you don't like materialism. Wait until he's old enough to have friends, and he'll be extremely jealous, and resent you when he's older. Plus who says you have to give a young child an ipod? You can give them anything.

I have a 15 month old daughter, and you better believe that her christmas is going to be extra special this year. Last year we only gave her a couple of things because she was so young, but this year she'll love opening presents. And I'd bet your son isn't much older than her since you're 22.

 

Same here lol my son's mom already bought him so much stuff, lot's of new clothes and some Thomas Train toys, some Car's toys (his favorite movie!) He just turned 2 last month and he doesnt get presents for no reason (except when I took him to get a flu shot, I bought him a toy because he was so good) so he deserves nice toys. Nothing wrong with it!

hmn at the moment, all i need is a roof and some financial support. something everyone not working needs, esp people at young age. EVERYTHING else i get done myself, w/e it may be. i constantly encounter problems getting certain things due to my age (not substances) but i always find a way. i do shit MOST 16 wont till theyre in theyre 30's so yeah, id consider myself pretty independent, considering once i finish my education i will not need anything but myself to live.



today while out with friends i saw a really young homeless guy, fine hes young and inexperienced in life like most. might not have a clue, i gave him 50p and a ciggarette, its not alot but you can get bread for that. another 50p u can get milk/water. i said good luck to him, since he is young and maybe will get his life on track. i also know about homeless disabled people, yes i feel sorry for them. but MOST arent. thats all i meant. and once again, yes i am judgemental, without a good sense of reality and common traits one will constantly step in shit.

 

Nice young girls are extremely rare. mostly ones who arent turn into nice women in theyre 25's-35's.

alot different with guys, men suck believe me - always exceptions but very rare also.

I've always been a "nice" girl, and still am. At least I was raised to have better language, and manners, and stuff. But that's me.

 

i kinda raised my self i think. my dad kind of just showed me the door, im the one that had to cross it. when i turned 12 started thinking independantly, learning from own mistakes and since 13 been trying to make sense of life.

 

I first saw my dad at eleven years of age. Kinda off point, but hey it happened *starts singing* on a Christmas day!!! Wooo!

 

Unfortunately I have to augment a fact. The first time I saw my father was also the last time. Oh!!! Maybe there is a good reason for that. Maybe my father…is Father Christmas!

I'm afraid I have to agree with MMC on the issue. The thing that really annoys me, is that Jesus was born in April. The powers that be changed it to 25th Dec, to try and stop the pagan celebrations. This used to be a thanksgiving and harvest celebration.

But hey man, it's great for a few days off from work and to catch up with family.

I think you guys might be upset because you've gotten too old to get a bunch of gifts. I mean why else would you hate christmas. Its not my favorite holiday or anything but shit at least I'm gonna get a gift from my husband. I cant think of a reason to really HATE the holiday other than u dont get gifts.



There is no true meaning of christmas anyway... whatever u think is the true meaning is made up. We have no written account of Jesus other than the bible which is bias and you think we have pinpointed his birth date ? lmao
