my cousin is famous here in nova scotia/canada for his singing, and i met him. hahah actually he's like my closest cousin.
I met Bill Clinton and shook his hand. All I could think was "damn I wonder where this hand hasn't been..."
i met the Virgin Millionairs, they were kinda cool i guess it was a strange way to meet them and did go over very well at the persons house. I've talked to Tufty (David Clough) from the Zero Boys a few times. met Skinhead Rob from the Transplants Peyton Manning uhh my dad met Frank Zappa at a familly reunion with his girlfriend who was cousins with him that about it i think
My uncle is John Oates (Of Hall and Oates fame). Randy Foye, Sam Mitchell, and Kevin McHale (T'Wolves) Al Franken came to my college a few weeks ago and I got to meet him and shake his hand. Oh yea, also my friend's dad is Max McGee but he died recently.
I met Larry Bird once. I was 6 or 7 and in the picture I literally don't even come up to his hip. I sware to god I saw David Lee Roth once in the Bahamas. He was a boat captain and I screamed "DAVID LEE ROTH!!!! OH MY GODDDD!!!" but he just drove his boat away
My father was close friends with Bob Marley. They have pictures together, and my dad was at his last concert on September 23, 1980. My father first met him in Jamacia and he spent a month with him. It was basically a non stop smoking session and i have the roach of a joint that has actually been in Bob Marley's mouth!
haha That reminds me of when my cousin was rapping with Aura in the car and he was like "oh my bad" and she was like "why?" haha Sorry Iliana but you have to admit, it was funny! And besides, I've tripped with several black people, 2 of them girls. In fact my neighbor in South Philly, a mother and grandmother of several, was an old black woman, was buddhist, and had mushrooms stored in the house! One of the coolest people I ever met, especially over twice my age. And the mushrooms Iliana (Autentique) and I ate were from a member of the Bloodhound Gang, though we didnt go meet the guy, a friend of mine did. So we tripped on mushrooms FROM a famous person, but no, didnt actually go exchange hands. Oh, and I ran into the mom from E.T. at a kmart, I used to live across the street from a bar that the singer Pink would drink at and saw her there on her birthday once, and I think Im forgetting another Doylestown native who is famous...
Im on first name terms with emma watson (hermioni in harry potter) and dido lives next door so my parents know her quite well. whe has a recording studio in the basment so we can hear all her new shit (sucks balls).
Ive briefly met Michael Franti after a show in Poughkiepsie. I've spoke with Chad from Dispatch after some State Radio shows. Ive met Michael Strahan, and Jeremy Shockey, When they are in town for summer football camp, a lot of the Giants go to a bar near me that has 20 cent wings on Wednesdays and they take advantage of it. I saw Trey Anastasio and Les Claypool walking around Bonnaroo in '06 but unfortuneatly didnt get to meet them.
Hehe funny thread... I've had a pretty famous UK kid's TV presenter passed out on my couch after a coke and booze binge who's identity I will protect but she's very well known... Smoked with Howard Marks twice, smoked with Jamiroquai (the band), met (the god of Hellfire) Arthur Brown, sold some hash to (hip hop group) Souls of Mischief when they played in my town- was walking down the street with a mate when they came up and asked us if we could help them out so we took them round the corner to his house, sorted them out and got put on the guestlist for the show- result! Have stage managed The Go! Team, sold mdma crystals to members of a band who were one of the headline acts at Glastonbury this year and have had several UK top 10 albums and singles, met (psy-dub producer) Ott several times and various psytrance producers of varying fame levels... Probably more but I'm starting to sound a bit starfuckerish here...
i saw dave chapelle down town walking into urban out fitters and i called him a scenester hahha. and than i saw eliot john at the beach the same weekend
I've met some pro wakeboarders & wakeskaters: Trevor Hansen, Reed Hansen, Danny Harf, I think a couple more but can't remember right now. Oh I also met Jimmy Ray back in his 15 minutes. Although he hardly counts, I only knew cause my sisters recognized him.
best answer in the whole post! hmm....a distant relation in-law i stayed with as a child once was an astronaut who had done some space walks and stuff, and was like a technical advisor to the movie armageddon or something, and had a couple very minor speaking parts in the movie.... i was smoking a couple feet away from where marc emery and his folks were smoking at a cafe in toronto once, but i didnt really care to meet him so i just went on minding my own business. just found out one of my regulars at work plays for the columbus crew...i dont follow sports so i didnt know until some other customer wanted to get his autograph oh and i've also served a local news "celebrity" for central ohio on a couple of occasions. i guess thats about all for me, not a very good list, but i dont particularly care about "noteworthy" people too much. i never really see any reason to be awestruck, but then again i could think of a few people that i'd be very happy to meet. they're just generally different types of people than most folks would want to meet. hmmm....my sister got to have a conversation with neil gaiman about creative writing at school this year (i'm not personally very interested in learning to write fiction, but i'd love a chance to talk with him about it, he's one of my favorite fiction authors) and my dad allegedly gave captain kangaroo a ride to the airport years ago when i was a really little kid (my dad worked for the news and they'd done an interview with him or something like that)
Did you know captain kangaroo had such big pockets in his jacket to hide his wandering hands during shows? I forgot I met Jeff the Drunk from the Howard Stern show. I was out to dinner at Hooters of all places a while back and he came walking in and went to the bathroom. I went to the urinal next to him and was like "Hey arent you Jeff the Drunk?" he goes yup and then left without washing his hands.
