looking for a violinist

    ok was watching the clasical channel and an amazing violinist he was so happy he was tapping the violin with his bow not drawing it across the strings. the problem is it never flashed his name up i know its a long shot but does anyone know of a violinist thats a happy tapper

    it could be anyone.
    You are refering to a standard technique either spiccato, ricochet

    spiccato is where you bounce the bow on the string in one stroke.

    ricochet is bouncing the bow from string to string to make fast staccato arppegios (it has the sweeping guitar sound) lookup paganini's 1st capprice the whole piece uses this technique, his 5th capprice uses spiccato during the first theme
