its really cool, i had my first lesson yesterday, my teacher's awesome, he actually has heard of bert janch! and i was riding the bus with it, and i had two people ask me to join their band, i guess there's no bass players in phoenix or something.
bassists are soooo hot one of my really good friends just started playing bass and he's already awesome at guitar...i told him i wanted to have his babies bassists...droool

My friend's dad was once a bassist in a band called "The Tiger's of Pantang" back in the 80's. For his AS results his dad bought him a bass, a car, a laptop and a PC, lucky bastard. Anyway, point is, bass rules, I'd never played one until a few days ago, the strings are humongous (to my guitary fingers anyway). I love a good "bass-growl" and funk bass lines.... goddamn. Listen to Jurassic 5 for some really funky basslines. Anyone out there own (or have friends who own) a bass and a wah-wah pedal? Hook them up together, you get some funkin' sounds.
yea im learnin slap bass, palm muting, poppin, all that good stuff. and isnt the term "bandaid" nowadays? or am i just watching "allmost famous" too much?
