I am NOT some1 who only eats meat, no plants, but what would they be called??? Does this diet even exist??? Don't say carnivores because we don't call you vegetarians herbivores! Do we???
*I* call 'em meatosauruses, but that applies to anyone who eats meat. I can't imagine anyone ONLY being able to live on meat. Too many missed vitamins & nutrients...
idk, the inuits live on meat and fish, and i think they are mostly healthy. i read an article about it a few days ago, and it said vitamins like vitamin C could be found in organ meats and such. i'm not condoning a meat-only diet, but some populations live in areas where agriculture is all but impossible and they survive.
I think a vegetarian diet misses too much protein. Sure there is protien in nuts and soy, but it is not the whole best protiens that are in meats.
Also could some vegetarians define MEAT for me? Yes I read this forums stick. Would bacteria and other microscopic organisms on veggies consumed make no one a true vegetarian? Is this too far of a reach? Does my argument win on a technicality? Or am I just an idiot?
I think that the Inuit are a different story altogether. Yes, they lived almost solely on meat. But they also had a VERY active & different lifestyle than most people can possibly imitate nowadays. The meats they ate are different nutritionally than most meats available these days. Even the fish are now contaminated to a level where it would be nearly impossible to imitate their diet in a healthy manner. I don't think bacteria would count. To me, "meat" comes from something in the animal kingdom... and bacteria & microorganisms are in a completely different kingdom!
a being that only eats flesh by design (like a cat) is an obligate carnivore. A being that only consumes flesh is a carnivore (carnis is flesh, or body), even if that being could eat some plant matter and survive such as a dog. Technically a vegan is an herbivore, and everyone else is omnivore, under strict definitions (since milk and eggs are from animals)
Jeez whens the protein thing gona wear down eh? Anyway, not up for starting that one, so ill answer the question Youre a carnivore. If you really seriously only eat animal flesh. Only word for it. Yes, vegans are called herbivores
I think I'm gonna make a shirt that says "I'm a vegetarian and I get enough protein!" Becauuuussse I do! And you do too probably. And meat eaters actually get more than enough.
Hehe i should make one which says "Im a raw food vegan and not only am i not dead, im healthy!" A little lengthy though I guess we cant blame people, the whole protein things been so drilled into society, even as a kid i remember the food chart things. Silly silly
thats why i eat tons of tofu and soy. ive gone to the doctors before and they said i get enough iron and protein so it is possible to be healthy and a vegetarian. sometimes just the products cost alittle more. you dont need meat to live
Did somebody like Owsley or Timothy Leary eat only eggs and steaks? Probably just a myth!? On a side note I once heard you could live off Guinness and bananas for a long time!
im not gonna tell ya what to do but you might want to cut down the ammount of soy you take in. too much soy is not only not good, its BAD!
"Stanley firmly believes that the natural human diet is a totally carnivorous one, thus making it a zero-carb diet, and that all vegetables are toxic. He claims to have eaten almost nothing but meat, eggs, butter and cheese since 1959. He also claims that his body has not aged as much as the bodies of those who eat a more "normal" diet. He is convinced that insulin, released by the pancreas when carbohydrates are ingested, is the cause of much damage to human tissue and that diabetes mellitus is caused by the ingestion of carbohydrates." Owsley Stanley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owsley_Stanley
yeah ive heard that alot from my parentals. haaha i really have cut-down alot in the past month. i thought alot of the too much soy is bad for you were just myths. obviously i didnt check into it enough and i was wrong.
I eat no meat of any kind besides fish and other seafood, but thats because I love the taste...I also eat eggs, cheese, and drink milk...I guess im one of those ortho-ovo pescatarian people or something like that...to each their own...
I noticed you were referring to the Inuit in the past tense. They still exist, you know. On another note to the original poster, there is no word for your diet.. Except maybe the "no plants" diet. As I understand it, you eat meat, cheese, bread, potatoes, etc., but no "greens". Is that right?
