^I personally don't think that there are too many people running fo/ in government positions who are, well, good enough to be trying to run our country.
^That brings up the question of who you want in charge. Someone with an IQ twice yours, someone who understands social issues, a hardedge militarian, etc. Who is "good enough" to make decisions for 300,000,000?
How do I feel about it? Well, based just on the title of the post, I feel that this is coming late by the better part of a decade. You seem to be under the impression that the top is where we're at right now, which is, bluntly, the most retarded thing I've heard since a certain world leader stepped out of a fighter jet and told the rest of the world and I, "Mission accomplished."
If anything, we are on the downfall... but no real peak was reached. All we have is money and power, which only get you so far.
Are you kidding? George Bush and his neo-con pals have pushed America to the brink through a combanation of imperial hubris, incompetent management of the economy, goverment and the military, and a blind disreguard for the constition. However even they can't Knock America off the top spot. Not that I'm into jingoistic comparisons with other countries, but America does dominate the world in any stat you cae to bring up. We have the largest economy, the most inovation, our cultural output and foms have been adopted woldwide, not to mention our form of goverment. Once this consevitive interlude is over mabey we can get back to good shit again instead of being the world's bully/laughingstock.
lol this makes me think of a movie that i watched the other day about whats going to happen to our future. has anyone ever seen the movie "idiocracy" with luke wilson? i think that movie really shows a trend thats happening worldwide. the basic plot of the movie is that dumb people reproduce way more then smart people. i dunno the title just makes me think of that movie because i just watched it the other day its funny.
Now lets NOT play the blame game. If anyone here tries to point out Bush as the sole reason of Americas current woes, you are a fool. The current world situation is due to many, many things going wrong over the course of time starting way back in... the origins of mankind! The latest generation is the worst ever. There ain't nothin' goin on in any of their heads, they only look at the back of the head of the person in front of them in line. We blame this, we blame that, we do nothing, we post about it here online, we fire nukes at each other until we turn into a vapor. Now wasn't that fun? Politician shouldn't be a career, it should be a choice of giving up your life in order to be the voice of the people. As soon as you start making money at it, then money takes priority over the will of the people. The same is true for religion and any art form. We fucked up bigtime, and now we can only watch and hope it'll be quick.
Just because someone is a conservative doesn't mean they support war. You obviously haven't heard of Ron Paul if you really believe that it does. In fact, I'll have you know that the Republican Party has historically been the more peaceful of the two major American parties. Perhaps the OP was referring to the fact that the American middle class is on the verge of being wiped out by our government's overspending (something liberals do in case you didn't know). To answer the original question though, I really don't care. Depending on the results of the 08 election, I may not be staying here much longer anyway.
