I want to start by thanking those who consistantly post intelligent, well-researched experiences or ideas. I am a new member here but I have been reading these pages for a while and have gleaned many helpful tidbits. I extend my most sincere appreciation. My experience has been primarily with MDMA and LSD, with more exotic chemicals (thanks to a trustworthy chemist I was acquainted with) like 2-CB and synthetic mescaline thrown in from time to time. As I have gotten older, I have slowly lost all my old sources as we move around or grow up or whatever so I started researching psychedelics I could access. That is how I found myself here some months ago. First the cacti pages proved to be informative yet fun, and now these. Now, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose. I ordered a pack of 100 seeds of the Hawiian strain from Botanic Magic. When they arrived I counted them and there were actually 148-off to a good start. By the way, Botanic Magic must be some affiliate of Iamshaman because their order forms are identical (except for the color) and they are both located in Chicago. Anyone know more about that? Anyway, I am planning a big group trip around Christmas with a bunch of old friends. They are all counting on me to make this work-which means I am going to have to do a test run. I decided to try six seeds to get a feel for the drug so I can give accurate advice about dosage later on. This is the tip I promised in the title of this thread. When doing my research it became apparent to me that soaking and straining is essential. I decided to do a short soak in a lime juice/distilled water solution(thanks to Ancient Powers). Everyone strains after the fact with a coffee filter or cheese cloth. That seems silly to me. I decided to use an herbal infuser by Swissgold. If you are not familiar, it is a little basket made of gold foil with pin holes in it. It is actually designed for tea enthusiasts and costs about ten dollars. Gold has a neutral ph balance so it does not affect what you are soaking. I just put the crushed seeds in it like a tea bag and allow it to sit in my solution for half an hour. It worked great, just like making a cup of tea, super easy. I have not read of anyone else doing this. I cannot believe it. All you herbalists out there should be ashamed of yourselves. So I drank my lime juice/LSA tea after letting it steep at room temperature for thirty minutes. After only ten minutes it hit me in a wave similar to MDMA. I will not bore you with the trip, but it was good. Slight patterning, bright color, light sensitivity, body buzz. I did not get sick at all but I was unprepared for how strong it was. It truly was comparable to a hit of acid. I think I will suggest eight seeds to my friends (who are all experienced trippers), as long as they treat them with respect. When you think of legal products the tendancy is to underestimate them-something you do not want to do with these. To all of you I suggest this method- Swissgold, short lime juice soak, Botanic Magic-a winning combination for me. Thanks again for reading and allowing me to read.
A couple questions: Did you scrape the fuzz off the seeds? I've heard that was important, but I'm not sure how much to scrape off. What was the ratio of lime juice/distilled water? Did you experience any stomach discomfort?
I did not scrape the fuzz. All experiments that I have read where people did preparation exactly the same except scraping or not scraping have reported no noticeable difference. I would be interested to hear an actual botanist give their opinion on if there is any more poison in the fuzzy husk or not. I squeezed two fresh limes' juice into six ounces of bottled/purified water. I had very little stomach discomfort, only a little acidic gassy sort of feeling that passed within an hour. I suppose that could have come from eating two limes on an empty stomach-I did not eat anything for six hours prior. In rereading this report I see that I wrote that I allowed it to soak for half an hour, but that is incorrect. I think it was closer to forty five minutes.
