An Indonesian man suffering from a rare skin condition that causes his body to be covered with tree-like growths may soon get help from an American doctor, according to a report in the British newspaper the Telegraph.

Dede, 35, who has gnarled growths sprouting from his hands and feet, has baffled medical experts since the warty "roots" began appearing after he injured himself as a teenager.

actually i i think it is really fukkin awesome,,, talk bout becoming one with your earth your source your creator.... of course tis solely my opinion and i have a strange yet deep desire to have a part of me actually be able to physically grow something ,, besides a human .... his condition is a little extreme and am sure causes alot of huge issues in his life as well ...i dont think my growing a small crop of mushrooms on my head would affect much with me other than looks from other people and i am plenty used to that ,, that has been a priority of mine since childhood

 

Omg that is amazing. And how terrible. A lot of people from other countries that have rare and amazing conditions like that seem to cope so much better than us americans would don't they?

He was offered treatment a while ago but he refused as he gets a good wage in the circus to feed his family.. but now the growths have got so bad hes going back for help. Seriously.

i think often times they are so used to being poor and accepting life as it is that so what if they have a funky ass weird condition,,, instead of the victim role that we tend to take on ,,, often times too other cultures look to the odd n weird medical things as a sign from a deity or gods whatever ya wanna use that they becomed revered n looked at as a miracle instead of a freak show,,, which is what we do here,,, when this story first got in media, i think it was round last june and now he is here,,, i wonder what his life will be like again once he is gone from the spotlight if he ever will be out of it again...

 

You're right! That's why I felt sympathy for them before, but until you just reminded me that they view such things as signs from god and stuff did I remember that I used to not care about these people cause they are just crazy..

 

tis a strange things how our views change in such short amounts of time... and often times they are so subtle we dont even know they have taken place until something makes the head ring and you have a WOW moment..

He cut his knee as a kid and it got infected.

A doctor is trying to cure him with Vitamin C supplements.
