at what age should i start smoking pot? i was smoking daily for a while, got busted and now i've decided to call it quits for a while. what age would be approaite to start smoking? i was thinking 16 but is even this too young?
You mean you were smoking regular cigarettes? If so, then throw those away, man, and pick up the weed, if you really want to. Earlier I smoked weed, then stopped after I realised it was too much like alcohol(in my view), then started again when I found I nice point in between stoned and sober. I don't smoke on a regular basis, though, but I will be toking up in a few minutes.
In my opinion, I think that you should at least wait till your body/brain is done cooking before introducing any chemical into your system that will cause alterations. The inhilation of smoke of any kind leaves resins on the fibers of your brochial tubes. The damage of smoking pot verses the consumption of alcohol/tobacco is incomparable, as the drastic effect from alcohol/tobacco on your liver/lungs/skin and mental capabilities out weigh the minimal affect of the chemical THC has on any system in the whole self. AS to the age, I think the 'legal' age should be 18, when your old enough to make your best choices as to what the consiquences/benefits are. I would rather see my 18 yr old on pot, then to see them on alcohol/pills/meth. I've raised 8 kids, 6 of me n hubs and a couple of nephews. Out of these 8, 5 of them were on alcohol/pills/meth. Twas' the boys that turned down the wrong road.. the girls 'smoked' and remained stable and more in tune with themselves, creating a mellow inviroment, unlike the self destructive direction the boys were headig, in and out of jail, lossing everything, ruining their health and creating mass destruction on their brain cells. We were able to reach 4 out of the 5 boys, with extream counciling and a threat of ostrazium from the fold, love and patience. One of the boys has been clean 5 yrs and now councils against the use of drugs and alcohol,Three have been off it for about two yrs and one has been clean for a yr, one is still lost right now and running scared, lost his job/home/family but we haven't given up the fight yet, we still love and try to council and give a good example. Pot is a medicine, an herb that grows wild, in abundance everywhere. It releives stress and pain, it stemulates the appitite, it moistens the eyes. It has been helpful with MS, MD, Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, anti depressent, cancer, aids, you name it and pot helps it. You can cook with it, eat it, make tea out of it and drink it, make a paste out of it as a poultis, make clothes/fabric out of it, use the thick grown stalks as fuel for fire places/stoves. Too many uses for it to be illegal for consumption or any use that is helpfull to our Being. That is what I think, have learned about it anyway. Bright Blessings sh
Too young isn't good. When you're younger, its harder to hold control over your use and you might abuse instead of use. If you start when you're a little older you can have more control. I'd agree with 18 being a good starting age which is also the law in my country for coffeeshops. I think some people can handle it from age 16, as I myself got my use under control fine when I was 16 (started at 15), but to be safe; wait until you're 18. You don't overlook consequences when you're too young.
I 'm not condoning younguns smoking anything for a number of reasons, but I'm gonna say one thing, and I'm not gonna repeat it. I've known kids who smoked when they were 5 to 7 years old. They did it because it was always around and their parents left the roaches in the ashtrays laying around. One 8 year old grew her own plant... They all eventually quit, before they even turned 13. Just lost interest I guess. Now they are grown up, and they all started smoking again at around 17 or 18. One girl waited until she graduated school. And not one of them seems to have been badly affected in any way... Having said that, I don't think kids or a lot of teenagers for that matter are MATURE enough to treat it in ways that won't end up getting themselves or someone else in a lot of trouble. And I don't think younguns have quite the proper respect level yet for what a substance might be doing to their lungs for example...
