I've noticed alot of confusion about concerta so i wish to clear some things up. General: Concerta is a slow release methlyphenidate pill which comes in 18mg, 36mg and 54mg pills. Slow release: after orally ingested the white outside layer is dissolved, this contains the immediate dosage, which cannot be snorted but can be smoked. After the outside layer has been dissolved there is a rigid semi-permeable membrane surrounding 3 different types of material. The first is a low concentration of methlyphenidate, the second is a high concentration and the third is a synthetic polymer which absorbs water through the semi-permeable membrane and expands to release the methylphenidate through the laser drilled whole. Snorting: this pill was designed to deter recreational usage, so unless this all that is available it is not recommended for insuffalation. Use scissors to crack off the outer shell, you can save these pieces for smoking if you wish, and where the brown meets the methylphenidate hold the pill between two fingers and cut. The best way to get all the methylphenidate out of the capsule is to place it on a hard, flat surface and with a sharp knife apply pressure either vertically or horizontally ( vertical is quicker but messier). Peel off the membrane and toss out as this holds nothing of value. The peeling might take awhile and you may lose some chunks, so do this on a pice of paper. Crush the material as well as you can although it may stick together, line up and snort. Try to get the utensil you are using up as far as you can because this stuff loves nose hair. You can expect the high to come on between 5 and 20 minutes depending on the fineness of the powder. The filler they use usually mixes with your mucous and will be sticky and mildly runny. High is mild to moderate. Orally: when taken orally you may need to take multiple pills, be careful not to overdo it. People with little or no tolerance should be able to feel something off of one 36mg pill, and for people with tolerance up to 150mg can be tolerated but i do not advise going above 100mg. To disable the slow release effect simply cut off a third of the pill farthest from the laser drilled hole which will remove the polymer and allow more surface area to be absorbed. High is mild to moderate, but recommended versus snorting.
