I was wondering how much more length I should have before I dread my hair. My hair is longer now, this pic is about 2 months old. When I pull my bangs straight down now they touch the tip of my nose. But how well does thick, curly hair work for dreads? Would it look dumb if I dreaded it now?
It 'd work, but they will be short (and remember they stand up straight the first two days). Thick curly hair works just fine because it knots easily. And another good thing about dreading your hair while it's short is that it won't shrink after a moth and it will just continue growing right away, so I'd recommend dreading it now.
They only stick up for two days then they just lay down? From what I have seen I guess I am going to go the backcombing method. I here ppl say to just stop combing and they will form themselves.... I haven't combed my hair in years and it is still the same everyday.
Even if you don't comb it it'll stay relatively the same if you still use regular shampoo or condition it - keeps the hair silky and less likely to tangle as much
plus your hair is still really short for neglect to work. your hair is very similar to mine and I backcombed mine when it was about an inch longer than yours.
Do it now dude, you can watch them go from babies to matured locks. Priceless experience (Not that I know, yet)
