I do that when I've had too much. You just need to find out at what point/amount exactly you stop remembering. I can do fine with approx 8 oz of liquer (depending on if I ate any food), anything over that and I don't remember the rest of the evening.

    Simple Q to answer.

Don't drink so much - puff puff and pass your way to a more enjoyable/memorable night IMO :)

Its a great excuse for folks like me that aren't fond of being drunk off thier ass.

Not at all, everyone's body reacts differently to drink. Plus there are other considerations like weight, how much you ate that day, how quickly you drank the alcohol, etc.

    Probably no.

Not everyone tolerates liqour the same... I'm 6'1"/225 and I honestly can't outdrink much of anyone... mostly because I have no reason to even try, but if I did my spot over the toilet/in a bush would have to be reserved for a few hours.

You have found your limits, from now on be wary of them and don't go overboard. The difference between nice and bubbly and omg I can't walk straight typically isn't that big... even laying off one cup might do it for ya.

blacking out is considered one of the first signs of alcoholism. if you drink often, you might want to cut back, because once you reach that point it's very hard if even possible to go back to being able to drink normally. of course, if you don't drink often, then maybe it's the pot, or one of any number of other possibillities.

for me though, i got drunk pretty much every day for about 3 years. i stopped remembering my nights sometime during the first year. now i've been drinking on average a couple times a month for a year and a half, and i still can't remember shit when i drink, although it is finally getting slightly better

    that's quite serious

alcohol can have quite a bad effect on the brain and memory. not sure about short term so much but long term constant alcohol abuse pretty much rots your brain. ive seen it first hand. people forget its just another drug because its socially acceptable

If alcohol is causing retrograde amnesia, it's a good sign you're drinking too much.

Interesting. I do have a history of alcoholism and many black outs. But I thought anyone who keeps drinking will eventually black out.

Whenever I combined weed and alcohol I'd usually wind up hunched over a toilet returning the beverages my stomach had "borrowed".

Sounds like you are drinking way too much. It's not normal.

Do you have a history of alcoholism in your family?

If you never allow yourself to get sober, you will never remember that you are forgetting anything. Problem solved.

The reason chronic alcoholics blackout is because alcohol interferes with the bodies ability to absorb and use thiamine (vitamin B1), a nutrient critical for memory formation. They eventually develop korsakoffs syndrome which is why old drunks act severely brain damaged..they actually are.

Ive read about blacking out being linked to genetic factors. Some people are just more prone to it apparently, non alcoholics included. I guess theres a chance you could have a vitamin defiency. You could try getting a good multivitamin and some super b complex and just pump your body full of it for awhile. Maybe take them for a week or two and then see if you have the same memory deficits next time you drink. Either way, thats your body telling you to chill. I have drank a lot more than is healthy, but have only blacked out once or twice. I know its hard to stop once you start drinking..but my advice would be to just not get that wasted.

I never understand how *anyone* who drinks alcohol can justify being against marijuana.... alcohol can do some serious damage, you COULD kill yourself... and if you drink alot your going to be kissing a toilet seat regularly. Keep drinkin and eventually your gonna drink yourself stupid.

Weed you can smoke yourself to la la land, not want to hurt anyone/be a drunk asshole/piss your pants while you puke your brains out.... and then wake up the next day just fine, or at least nowhere near a hangover. After BEING a long term smoker I feel no way impaired at all, in fact I feel I have a better way of looking at the world as a result.

Then tobacco... slowly kill yourself to get that 30 second buzz, that most folks stop getting after awhile... I get an urge to smoke tobacco that I've never gotten from weed. Weed I just feel like smoking, just like I feel like watching a movie.... tobacco its almost a certain anxiety. I actually started smoking tobacco just to get a grip on what the addiction was like... it serves to show that weed is *definitely* not physically addictive.

You can be mentally addicted to anything... perhaps hershey's chocolate needs to be banned, hell I've gotten sicker eating chocolate than I have smoking weed...

Whats the fuckin deal here? You could present the facts to a 5 year old and they can figure out the laws are horseshit...
