So I practiced telepathy for the first time today. I wrote on a piece of paper five symbols: a square, a circle, a star, a triangle, and 3 wavy lines. I asked my friend to pick one, mark it without me seeing it, then to visualize and to repeat the name of symbol in their heads. My method of receiving their thoughts goes like this: I close my eyes and sit comfortably, then I meditate for about 1-3 minutes by breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, feeling more and more relaxed with every breath. Then when I feel calm enough, I clear my thoughts and think of nothing. I wait for the first thought to come to my head, which is usually the sound of the name of one of the five symbols. I tell the friend "Is it the circle?" And most of the time I am right. The first time I got it twice in a row with two different people; then I tried to read from a third person, and it did not work with the third friend. I tried it again with the first friend, and I failed again. I took a break and tried after 2 hours, and it worked for another new person. After building my confidence, I tried it again with another group of people, but this time it all failed probably because I was too hasty in meditation and not thinking it thoroughly, so there were lots of distractions and my mind was still full of my own thoughts. Out of a total of about 12 times, I think I scored about 4-6 correct. Also, one of my friends checked the wavy lines, but projected the thoughts of the circle purposely to see the result, and I received a split second thought of the wavy lines, but after concentrating more, I started to hear "circle" loud and clear. So I decided it was the circle. He said I was reading his thoughts (what he was thinking) instead of his mind (what he actually did). Another time, I couldn't pick up any signals at all and told him I couldn't do it. I didn't see which symbol he had picked. For having no experience at all in telepathy, having scored about half correct was pretty satisfying for me, especially since the average statistic should have been 20% correct. Any comments/tips?
There's not a lot to say on the subject.. You're doing everything right to open that third eye and expierence telepathy. Try to meditate and clear your mind for longer. 1-3 minutes just doesn't sound long enough. and the best thing to do is to try it with just one other person, someone you're close to. You'll be more likely to pick up their thoughts than if you did a whole bunch of different people. The key to honing psychic skills is practice, practice, practice...
Another good way to practice is a far-seeing technique.. you and a friend should be in seperate rooms or even seperate houses. Both people sit in a quiet room with a pad of paper and a pencil. One person will draw something extremely simple (tree, house, person, etc) with their non-dominant hand (left hand if you're right-handed, and vice versa). The other person should complete relax and clear his/her mind. Whatever image comes to the 'recievers' head should be what he/she draws, also with the left hand. Then switch! By the way, you're five-symbol technique is just like the Zener cards which were developed in the 1920's. The only difference is Zener used a plus sign + instead of a triangle. You should also make five of each card for a total of 25 cards. With your friend, make a chart 1-25 and your friend will write down what each card is, and then write down what you guessed. It'll be much more efficent and it'll be easier to calcuate your percentage.
Thanks for the comments and ideas. About the third eye: I don't usually see the image, but I actually hear what the symbol is. So if it was a square, I'd hear "square" in a low but audible voice. A voice that sounds very similar to the voice I hear when I think to myself in words, which is most likely what it is. The problem about meditation is that whenever I decide to put my skills to the test, I get extremely nervous; my heart beats faster, my breathing is more rapid, and I get jittery. In order to calm myself down, I meditate through breathing with nose and mouth. Even when meditating before performing, as soon as I tell the audience that I will try it, I get nervous in seconds. So I meditate once again. But if you are sure that meditating for more than 3 minutes before announcing the performance will help, then I'm willing to give that a try, since I haven't tried that yet. Another thing, do you have any tips on bringing my telepathy to another level? Such as being able to see the real image checked even if the audience checked one and thought of the other? Or to pick up thoughts that are completely random and not about the 5 objects?
The third eye was actually a reference to the 6th chakra, which is what is necessary in order to do anything related to psychic work. As for the 'audience', it's actually a lot better to practice on your own, with you and one other person, until your 4-6 out of 12 times becomes 11-12 out of 12 times. The nervousness and jittery-ness will definitely affect your outcome. The problem with all things psychic is that it takes a while to hone. It's not something you can just jump into. Like I said, find one person you can easily relate to, and practice both the Zener card technique and the far-seeing technique. Once you're doing well with that person, try one more. Then three more. Eventually you will be ready to 'perform' for an 'audience', once you've had ample practice. As for taking it to the next level, you might want to try 10 different cards, instead of 5. Or maybe different pictures. Maybe more complex pictures (I suggest a house, a car, a computer or television, a tall building, and a cell phone, etc.). Try experimenting with different things, but remember that it's not going to happen over night. Once you start experimenting with one thing, do it every day for two-three weeks before starting something new, that way, you'll be more comfortable if you ever go back to it. Imagine being able to know 85% of a deck with 100 cards (20 different images, 5 of each card), then 'performing' your basic 5x5 deck. That'll surprise some people I'm sure!
the inclination to use those 5 symbols is positive . they are so humanly classic as to be genetic language , that is , they each have a meaning as a useful , practical and common word . you know what they mean . i mean - do you ? anciently and traditionally , the symbols are etched upon stone and endure . ~O~~~O~ you , child , are also a stone that has been written upon . . .
