SWIM got a ticket in November for not having a light on his license plate and not using a blinker. They also got a citation for having 6 joints, a grinder, a scale, a roller, and random paraphernalia. (The vehicle smelled of marijuana and so the cop wanted to search it and yeah hindsight is 20/20 but what is done is done...) SWIM has been a habitual user of Marijuana for about 3 years now smoking everyday about an oz a week. I am certain they will get put on probation therefore resulting in drug tests. What happens if SWIM isn't clean by the time their first test rolls around even though they have been sober? Their first court date for the matter is in early January. I read on erowid that Marijuana can stay in ones system for up to 12 weeks (habitual use). I know there are detox products out there and everything but just wondering if anyone has had any kind of experience on such matters and how they personally handled them. BTW SWIM is 24 and has never been in any trouble with the law what-so-ever.
Sorry I'm not sure about the consequences, but, even at an ounce a week, the THC metabolites for which they test, should no longer be at a traceable level by most urinalysis' in a month. Just to be sure, SWIY should do daily exercise(at least an hour) until a couple days before the test. With that there shouldn't be much about which to worry.
If SWIM gets put on probation for possesion and gets drug tested, they will most likely do nothing, since they know SWIM smoked marijuana BEFORE getting put on probation. What will likely happens is that after the first drug test, they keep a tab on the ammount of THC in your system, and as you continue to be sober, the level of THC that shows up in future drug tests should continue to drop, thats how they know SWIM is being sober. Thats what happened to me, I came out positive since i had confessed to smoking before getting put on probation. And they just made sure I didnt do anymore by watching the ammount of THC in my body going down in the urine tests.
