Hey everyone. So, we believe that my girlfriend may be suffering from extreme depression, or bipolar. She has amazing, uncontrollable mood swings, going from screaming anger to crying fits in only minutes, to calling me names and everything and then apologizing profusely and saying she loves me, again, just minutes later. She can't ever seem to sleep, she feels sick everyday, never has any engery, and just isn't ever a happy person. My question is, I want to know as much information as I can. She is going to speak with a doctor in a few days, and I just want to know everything. I have been looking up medications, and so many carry suicidal risks. I am just very worried about her, and I want her, and us, to be happy again... Is there anything anyone can tell me?

she could be pregnant... yeah with antidepressants, you have to kinda play trial and error (under a doctors supervision of coure) some make you feel worse and some actually help. THe only thing you can do through this is stick by her side and reassure her over and over that you are there for her and you still love her no matter what.

She has been like this pretty much ever since we started dating (about a year and a half) so no, she isn't pregnant. On that subject, because of this, we haven't even been intimate in over two months now. She just doesn't want to.

I will always stick by her side through anything. I've seen her at her worse, and I have never thought of leaving her..

I agree that the best you can do is to stick by her and let her know you love her no matter what.

I'm bipolar and it sounds a bit like what your gf is going through, though I'm not a doctor and I can't say for sure. When I'm manic I get really happy but I'm also quick to anger and don't get much sleep, if any. When I'm depressed I'm crying all the time and have no energy.

I wish you both the best. It sounds like you're off to a good start with doing research. That's always best.
