So I just reminded myself that my favorite munchie food is guacamole!!! Not the restaurant stuff, or the prepackaged stuff cause they all suck, but my own recipe! I just ate some, and it was soo good. Here is my recipe in case you guys want to try some.

    Renee's Famous Guacamole

    4 medium sized avacados
    1 small onion, minced
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    2 vine ripened tomatoes, chopped
    1/4 cup cilantro, roughly chopped
    1 TB oregano
    2 TB mayonaisse
    juice of 1 lime
    salt and pepper to taste

Combine onion, garlic, tomatoes, cilantro, oregano, and mayonnaise. Then add ripe avacados and mash with potato masher. Squeeze lime juice over top, and season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with tortillas, or anything.

I think guac is the only thing that I totally fail at when trying to make it. Whats a good sub for cilantro in this? I think it tastes like dish soap (yes, i have tried it)....usually I sub in parsley, but i dont know if that would work in this case. Ideas?

I like to have salt and sugar. Doritos Cooler Ranch, maybe some vienna sausage. (It really is good.) And for sugar I like Keebler fudge stripes shortbread cookies.
Somebody give me some weed! Lol.

Gucamole is amazing. And while the homemade stuff is the best, they sell this awsome stuff called guacisalsa at Trader Joes.

how is it guacamole if you dont even have any sort of hot peppers or anything in there??? and i've heard of people putting sour cream in their gauc, but mayonaise? sour cream is gross enough but mayonaise....i dont think i could handle that!

for me....i dunno....guacamole is one of my favorite snackfoods, but i like my own way of making it....

2 slightly soft avacados, peeled and pitted
    1 tsp chilli powder
1/2-1 tsp tabasco sauce or cholula garlic chili hot sauce
1-2 cloves fresh garlic, minced, 2 tsp jarred pre-minced garlic, or three tsp garlic powder
    1 small red onion, chopped
1 med tomato of choice, chopped
a small package of cilantro, chopped, stems included
    1 tsp FRESH ground cumin
    1/2 tsp of black pepper
    1/2 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp of salt
    1 tsp olive oil
    juice of one fresh lime

i put all ingredients except the onion and tomato in a large mixing bowl and mash....if the avacados are soft enough as is, then a fork works perfectly. if they're a little too firm, a potato masher works well. then i add the tomato and onion, and mix by folding over with a fork

all measurements are estimated and elastic; i have no real recipe. these are what i normally put in if i want to make really good guacamole, though, and most of it goes in even if its not my best. most commonly excluded ingredients are tomato, onion, lime and cilantro, but at LEAST one must make it in! if the avacados are too firm to mash well by hand, a SMALL amount of sour cream may be added and/or a food processor may be used to help the process

this is making me think of how long its been since i've made guacamole, and how much i fucking love it. its one of the most delicious foods i've ever eaten, in my opinion...absolutely perfect....course everyone likes what they like, and lots of people like putting sour cream and other stuff in there, but i just really dont like it as much, except for an occasional TINY hit of sour cream in there...almost none...

but guacamole is good.....next time i have a few bucks to spare, i gotta check and see if the store has some good avacados....
