You seem like your head is definitely on straight though! Oh my what I would have been doing at this time when I was 19.... hell, what I probably WAS doing at this time when I was 19... would I go back and change it, hell yea I would, I'd be in a much better position now. I played into the whole "here's your chance to do everything you shouldn't do before you head out into the world" thing after highschool, regrettable most definitely.

 

I mean I smoke cigs. and I do shrooms once every year but thats about the worst I get as a physical teen. Although I will be 20 in 2 months and not a teenager anymore. I wouldn't really call him an asswhole more like a opionated christian. Although I am making him sound worse than he is. I agree with most of his idealology but the way he rules the house I have a problem with. Like yesterday I asked how much something they bought for the cats was and he got really defensive and angry. I had no agenda I was just curious if it was expensive just for the hell of it, and he got really mad...he always thinks I'm trying to do something...he doesn't trust me at all. He's just not trusting at all...he doesn't really trust anyone which really annoy's me.

 

That really does make him an asshole, don't make it less than it is. Perhaps he has his good points, but they can't negate his nonsensical/defensive stance.

On the same token you can't lose respect for the man, he is your father... just draw your own conclusions and go from there. Thats how the world becomes a better place, each generation improves upon the next... but the current mentality seems to lean towards degredation, its saddening to say the least. You already seem to know that, though, I'm more or less enjoying the sound of my fingers hitting the keyboard

I don't speak from experience, not only have I never known my father, I have been absent of a male role model my entire life... the very reason it was always in so much turmoil. Growing up outside of a "family" did give me a perspective on things, though... without such direction I drew my own path, and without such direction I've made many a stupid mistake. Fortunately I am now aware of all of the above and may continue as a man of my own will.

 

Well get busy living or get busy dying. We completely stole this thread. hahaha
