Is pornography perverted?

It depends what you consider porn. I think nudity is beautiful...and some think simple nudity is porn... but if you're talking videos, or hardcore, penthouse type porn, I think it's disgusting, and demeaning....not just to women, but sex and people as a whole.

Anyway, you could always make your own porn to keep in private That's a whole different story.

 

I can't answer the poll because I don't have a black & white answer to the question. The great majority of hardcore doesn't turn me on, and much of it I find quite disgusting. However, if the girl is pretty and is really into it and enjoying it rather than being exploited, then I am turned on by it. But most of the time the girls is being financially exploited and the guy is some disgusting low life with some cash.

So in general I would have to answer yes, that it is perverted and morally degrading. Yet on the other hand, guys are visual as opposed to the way women are much more verbal, have you ever read a romance novel? They can get extremely graphic. However, no one is being exploited in a romance novel. Porn that is the visual equivalent of what romance novels are, is I think morally alright. Unfortunately that is only a tiny portion of porn.

Also, I think that much of the porn industry is heavily dominated by people who are involved in sinister spiritual practices, which makes it much more morally degrading and accounts for why so much of it is so profoundly sickening to me.

people dopnt change their views of men or women by looking at porn, if they do then theyre a dumb shit. porn is porn its there for sexual pleasure not to judge people by. if you think it demeans women then say that to the women posing cos they dont seem to think so.

i have no problem with porn, but i do think it needs to be regulated. It makes me sick when I see porn where the women are degraded. After a while, I'm sure some ppl might start to think that it's okay to treat women like this. It's horrible!...but when the porn is just two ppl having equally reciprocated sex...it's fine!

it all depends. theres some really crude stuff out there in the porn world. porn can be sexy, beautiful and erotic. or there can be midgets taking it in the butt from a 7 foot tall clown covered in piss.

I watch porn to learn some stuff. I think liking porn is normal. Just a phase in life you have to travel. I think in the end you'll get tired of watching them. I did.

But I dont get all this demeaning to women thing, yes although it may protray women that way, the women get paid for doing it, and if they dont like it- they dont have to do it.... its there choice so whats the problem?

OK, someone else bumped the three-year-old post into my sight so I will go ahead and make a comment.

After reading a sampling of responses, all facets of Porn seemed to be touched on, from its supposed demeaning of women, to its unreal portrayal.

First off, it is an assumption that this whole thread refers to vid porn. I write and read porn, which is its original context - pornography, the tales of prostitutes.

So, assuming we aren't talking about me and other writers of porn (I also have done some illustrations), then we have to further clarify that the posts I've read were talking about heterosexual or lesbian porn.

I also like to watch two young buff guys go at sex (which in no way demeans women BTW). The point I'm making is that there is all sorts of porn, some good, some well acted, some bad, and some downright kinky. You just have to evaluate it for yourself, just as you would any MOVIE. You know critics often disagree over regular movies in the cineplex and porn is no different. (There are actually porn awards).

I like porn. Some I don't want to watch because it doesn't appeal to me but other really turns me on and that is why I watch it. I like fuck scenes without any story around them. I like them to have action for about 20 minutes or so, just enuf time for me to end my JO session. My wife and I used to watch porn vids together and sometimes participate with the people on screen - getting off at about the same time.

Don't know if I've added anything to this old post, but that is my opinion on the subject.
